As all veteran players know its a pain to try to replace the Vets when they get killed.
I have probably lost ~15 or so vets in the last two or three days alone (Of guys above lvl 60 so it is almost pointless to try to replace them)
What I propose is this.
Leave the current lottery system in place
Allow us to buy vets with points. I know I know your saying "I have heard this suggetstion before"
Here is where it may be a little differant.
Use a exponential system using points
For Example
IF Sailor A has 0-20 Vets then it costs 25K to upgade them (Each) 20-40 Vets then it costs 100K to upgrade them (Each) 40-50 Vets then it costs 250K to upgrade them (Each) - This I say is an average level 50-60 Vets then it costs 500K to upgrade them (Each) 60-80 Vets then it costs 1,000,000 to upgrade (Each) Anything over 80 vets 10,000,000 to upgrade (Each)
This would give points a reason. Allow folks to balance the Vets on each gunner/person. Allow the higher level players to replace what attrition has taken away. Yet with the old system still in place New players can still play the lottery (Or old ones for that matter) and get vets that way.
I would suggest TNF restrict this in the following way (To keep veteran players from loading up new crew with Vets)
If your sailor is level 10-20 only allow this to work up until he has 20 Vets If your sailor is level 20-40 only allow this to work up until he has 40 Vets Etc.
If you take a look at Laoji's account he only has 11 Million points (And I think he is the highest level player on the server) then it would be unlikely that this could be abused.
Please tell me what you think
