  • Guns for the Dido

When your first able to get the dido at lv 28 what do you think are the better guns for
it, the 4.7 inch triples or the 5.25 doubles? I might be a little off on my numbers but I
think thats about right.

I've seen a few people use the 3x4" guns well on a Sirius before, but they had very
high level crews and therefore had an incredible rate of fire. In op convoy, they
could tear apart DDs in the middle. I agree and doubt it would be as effective in a
regular game, because of the range issue.

the 5.25 L doubles are better than 4.7's . And when u get to lvl 33 get the dual 6" s
which are even better

I agree with okeanos.

Brit 6" guns never out range other nations CL guns except possibly the lowest level USN 6"
guns. The advantage of the level 38 6" is that they can high angle, slightly.

RN 6" is the hardest hitting.

Personally, I regard the first set of 6" available at level 33 as the best. You might want
to try the L's if you are in a Dido.

Don't even think of using the trip 4s. No range at all, crappy spread with what
range you do have. If you wanna use 4s, stick with a DD. Once you're in CL land
you'll never get in range of anything with the 4s. The second set of 5.25s are good
enough to get by with in the Dido, though you'll do better with the dual 6s that
come at 33. The only advantages the 5.25s have over the 6s is the ability to high
angle and carry AA rounds, but that doesn't outweigh the hitting power of the dual
6s.

Use the dual 6" XXII Ls at lvl 38 and snipe CLs with them as they outrange almost
all CL2, they have the longest range guns that can be outfitted in a CL1 and are the
strongest 6" ever than any 6" gun when you cant afford your next ship.

That's good question. I would go with the 5.25 myself you must rember that you are no longer
in a DD so you should not fight like it anymore, all you have to do is think about it from the
others guys point of view "you are in a bigger ship now so sinking you gets him more
exp/credits" your best bet is 5.25 you need to start fireing from range, "range= your friend" the
4'' only has an angel of 40 degrees where as the 5.25 is 70 degrees i.e. you can shoot from a
farther range, idealy this is best way to avoid DD TW that rush, but also if you are still
considering
the 4'' 3x you could put more shells on target and you have a slightly faster reload time vs. the
5.25 but like I said that's DD thinking also which ever Gun you go with Use APC shell's not HE
shells they give more experts when they hit and also they tend to kill more of the targets crew
i.e. experts, vets. Everyone will take you more seriouly that way.
