I don't think it's the "crash spot," I think it has something to do with you retreating in OC games. For some reason, I realized that if I retreated in a previous game and then continued to another game, I'd end up crashing the latter game. However, if you join a normal game and then join a OC game (not sure about this since I haven't tried) it should work, or just quit and restart, that always works.

"The crash spot" are the two spots you can place your ship that are hidden behind the chat screen on Alpha team.

These spots only appear on 3 round games on the very bottom left of Alpha. There are two of them right on top of each other.

They, however, do NOT CAUSE CRASHES. I have personally used them more ofthen than not, to be honest, and I NEVER CRASHED WHILE USING THAT SPOT.

Only had 1 crash on me today but there were people in there yelling about someone being in "the crash spot" so I assumed that is what caused it. <shrug>

I would just be happy to find fair fights and teammates that dont quit when you lose the first point. Its worthless to sit there and get pounded by overwhelming forces after the rest of your team quits. I hate to lose the XP and time but who wants to stay in there when you are all alone and they have your spawn camped?

I tried playing op convoy again a few days ago. I crashed every other game.
