Yup, and don't ever stop in the middle of the part being sprayed. Always keep
spraying beyond the piece.

I use an airbrush for most of my model painting. Like mentioned, make sure that
the material does not react to the paint. And thin out your paint so that you get a
nice light spray, and do not rush it, let it dry and take the time for multiple passes.

If you are interested in warship modelling or need help in figuring out what is
accurate and what isn't, come join us at www.modelwarships.com (go figure, eh?)
and join the forums. Just remember, the rest the of the internet is not as tolerant as
this one in regards to junk and spam.

Spray paint (enamel, or acrylic) would do very good for a model with one colour like
the Zero you have in mind. Brush painting would take a very tedious amount of time,
and should be used for models with hard-edged camo/colour patterns. For patterns
that have "faded" or "blended" edges between colours, it would be best to use
either an airbrush, or a spraycan with an index card or something that has a hole
cut to resemble the pattern, so that the paint does not end so suddenly.

I'm not an expert by any means, but I like to put a layer of metallic spray paint before I
place any paints anywhere. You may however find, using a white exterior that using a
metallic is not the best idea. However I do suggest an undercoat before you start your
paint. Generally spray paint is very hard to use for small details ;) , I've only ever
used it for large camo's and use a very fine artists brush for most of my painting.

I learned one thing (among others) while Iwas building models...

CHOSE THE PROPER BRUSH!!!

Depending on the paint you use, a single stroke gone bad can ruin the whole work...

So inform yourself on which brush to use for which areas :)
