Yeah i do remember it very well- even if at that time i was in a 100 SD deutschland ehehe...

Anyways, blitz was fun but pointless. The exp gain for being in the less- players nation
was too little and at the end the games evolved in a massive spawn camping of the soviet
spawn by hordes of germans. The fact that spawns had huge badass cannons made it just worse.

Yeah, you could play all the time, but seriously!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! One level took
way too much and you just kept doing the same things over and over again. NF has some
inside variety, i mean, it's not just guns- i have a cv and a ca too :P

And if you cannot remember the 1.099 desaster which caused everyone to go play
Blitz then you must have been asleep at that time.

I thought everyone left because of item #7 (or was it #13?), something involving massive
reductions in sale prices on certain ship hulls - 2% for DD, 10% for CL, 25% for CA, 50%
for CV, 75% for BB. I dont recall anything about the 300SD cap being the cause of it...

Blitz died for various reasons.

1. Poor player base. At the begining it was full of ppl, + later many NFers flooded
Blitz reality, to leave quite fast after SD "bug" was removed.
2. Blitz lacked in improvments to the game play (just like in NF - killed OpC, no HA)
3. Server updates. It was good to some point and then steadily from poor to bad
and to worst.
4. Real lack in game balance. Few early lvls were cool for both sides, but from lvl 8 to
like 18, playing Soviet was just sado-masochism. Lvl 20 toys were uber, but not
many ppl reached them. (this is of course issue [balance] which need to be
addresed in NF very soon).
5. Lack of fun from certain point. I cant put right now finger on it, but as ppl moved
away from Blitz ppl playing Russian often faced impossible odds (like 15 Reds vs 80
Germans). You must admit it was BS.

Thats few points I can think of. Without urgent changes to NF shape (more ships,
more playing, less waiting and pointless talking), NF facing same fate.

Blitz probably died because all teh NF players left inprotest at the crazy 300SD
patch. They were probably expecting a quiet beta with a slowly growing fanbase,
instead they had their newly leased servers sucked dry by hundreds of disgruntled
SDE customers. I'd say it may have been a ploy from SDE to crush a rival, but I dont
think they're clever enough! :D

Blitz sounds fun. Pity it died.

after learning what NF is coded in, me and my "dev team" are talking about trying to
use the NF engine to make a WW2 tank game, i think it would go great hand in hand
with NF (overseen by SD ofcourse)
