Germans noticed their torps were crap? *eyes that statement* you mean americans, because otherwise the british would not have nearly lost the war due to how many ships the wolfpacks sunk. the best torps were. japs. Germans. British. Americans the americans had the worst because it was a known fact that 80% of them eather didn't blow up, or were built so badly they just sank halfway to the target. A fact that did not change until the last years of WW2. "At any one time during the so-called 'Happy Times' for U-boats, there were only ever a maximum of 30 at sea. For an area the size of the northern Atlantic, this was not many. Despite this, they managed to wreak havoc. Individual U-boat captains like Kretschmer were responsible for the sinking of 200,000 tons of shipping alone." 200K in tonnage being a good number for a single Uboat during a 2 year 'happy time' means the torps were NOT unreliable. http://uboat.net/technical/torpedoes.htm that also mentions nothing of unreliability. and lastly.... there was nothing to counter torps accuratly with anything other then ECM like I said and even that was only when they have guided torpedoes. later in the war. learn to dodge. =O
