As all my "formula-posts" have been recently bumped, I was approached to put
them all into one post so it could be stikied... here it is.

These guides contain advanced information. If you are just starting to play the
game please go ahead and read Obst's guides on www.nf-guides.com. That
webpage gives you all the information you need to start with. If you have done that
and
are still curious about some details, go read ahead.

Since it has quite some information, I divided it into several parts, that are posted as
replies by myself.

0) Ability - how they are calculated / base stats
1) BO's Potential - guideline length / marking distance
2) Accuracy - where's the cap, how is it calculated
3) Reload - where's the cap
4) Torpedo - reload cap
5) AAW - chance of shooting down planes at horizontal and vertical distances with
auto fire
6) Repair - Repairrate and Burnrate

Also if you think that you have found a mistake, please contact me directly as it most
probably will just be a misunderstanding and I don't want an obsolete discussion in
this post as it just blows it up and might scare ppl away.
I have not included all "proof" in this post - if you are looking for some numbers how
I came up with the formulas, feel free to look for my old posts from between 2005
and now,
and you will find more information in there.

I've got two KM Gunners with following stats:

lvl 84

11/11 boosted => 13/13

166 VETS 98 %
471 Experts 69 %
37 Rookies 0 %

Ability displayed: 2559

according to the formula, I got a true ability
of: skill % * displayed Ab. * max crew

1.67 * 2559 * 674 = 2,880,359 right?

the cap is: 4706 * lvl + 1,000,000 right?

At lvl 120 : 1,564,720

So, my question is:
Will my gunners always hit the cap, even if I do
not refill with experts?
Given they do not loose huge amounts of Vets/Experts.

I know your going to say plane durability when I ask this question but hell I'll ask
anyways

If a 118 Scout with 2501 Bomber ability full experts 109 vets can be AAW (mostly
from us boats) but a lvl 80 TB with 1948 ability does fine.

Does 125 durability make up for that?

Also if I read right Fighter ability is capped per lvl? Like how gunners are?

Also can someone hand Albert info for medics we are all woundering if theres a cap,

what the cap is, and at what lvl can it be achevied or how many medics take to

reach cap (if there stackable wich I belive they are)

"Taking all this into account - you want true bomber ability on all your pilots - as
much
as possible!! A high fighter stat is nice and important too but its effect become less
pronouced at a higher level. By not classing your pilots above the minimum class,
you not
only keep more growth in bomber ability, you also keep the increased crew growth,
which in
fact gives you even more fighter ability as well.
A non-classed "Fighter pilot" will beat a similar (same crew composition and base
stats)
"Ace" or "SQLdr" hands down every single time."

So...... you are saying that, if i let my "fighter pilot" without being classed till lv 120,
it will beat other kind of fighter plane that is driven by a "fighter sqd ldr" lv 120??!?

considering all of this info some ppl argue usa is better at higher lvls? however i seems
to me that km get better planes and they are other wise excatly the same is this also
true? if so then km would always be better in attack
