  • Fix the Disconnect Counter

When you type /who, it says how many wins, losses and disconnections a player has.

Can we please fix it so that certain players/fleets/CV's will stop disconnecting every
time their flank fails? And those that carry on can be highlighted and punished.

I will not name names, but there is currently a KM PCV that is doing this nearly all the
time. There are also a number of BB players doing it also.

If someone is sad enough to protect a win ratio, fine, I don't care. Just disconnect after
you have sunk. Doing it before then is stopping the other team get their hard earned exp,
and is just childish and pathetic.

Come to think of it, I shall recommend this.

Not because I think they shouldn't disconnect, but because it would stop those
people that seek ego boosts from having a good win ratio, in the mistaken belief it
would make them more special in the eyes of others.

My disdain for people who want to be seen as superior is well known, and if this
puts a spanner in their quests, I'd be mighty pleased.

I really could not be bothered to google your Motherboard. However, if you do not have a
PCI-E slot, then you should not be complaining about gaming. And 2 gb of Ram is fine, it
is what I use.

Wifi doesn't (in general) slow down gaming for me; With the exception of Navyfield. I
don't know the technical reason, but Navyfield HATES wifi.

Now, if you want more technical advice on how to get a PC from this century, make a new
thread.

This thread is about enabling the disconnect counter to the game (It is already in the
game but de-activated) due to the sheer amount of players that will disconnect just
because they are losing. Especially CV's while flagship.

If someone has PC problems and disconnects often, then they shouldn't be playing and
wasting a spot until they fix it.

Again either you cant read or dont want to read or missunder stood what I posted.

The Gigabyte GA-8VD667/2 V1.1 has an intergrated video chip there is "NO VIDEO
CARD SLOT" so saying "go buy a video card" shows your lack of understanding of
computers.I even gave you the mother board code that you can google to your
hearts content!

It will never fit a video card.
Those old boards have 2 gb memory at maximum the AMD Thunderbird has 333
memory so you cant upgrade any further.
I also said they are home put together emergancy computers so I can google for
jobs and play minimum speced games.

My Asus M51SN has Gigabyte lan for Gaming not wifi ,I use wifi for PIC
Microcontroller code
down load not game playing.

As for the Vista Admin yes done all the Admin from xp down to win 95 sam crap vista
has a problem with NF.exe closing down game filing a report.

You have the Dr. Who as your avitar guess you really need to Geek it up abit on
knowledge:)

"Life is too short to be worrying about other people's gaming ethics."

Exactly.

Playhard go pro! shouldn't be applied here: This isn't CEVO/CPL.

"Man you havnt a bloody clue to computer v internet connection problems.
The counter is counter productive and sets a bad point of view on people who cant
afford decant internet, or good computers."

I can build a PC for less than 150 GBP that can easily handle NF.

"I have a patched up desktop with a GA-8VD667/2 Rev1.1 Intel 845 chip Socket 478
P4 2.5HT with "INTERGRATED VIDEO"which gives me 'LAG" AND "SCREEN FREEZES"
from 5 seconds to 2 min then "bing lost server connection" or same picture of nf
game but nothing moving=reboot.Or I jump on my old trusty AMD 1ghz Thunderbird
chip unknown m/b simular problems. Both of these used XP PRO and well hardware
issues are the main problem."

NF is Ram intensive. You also need a dedicated graphics card. It doesn't cost alot.

"Then jump on my Asus M51SN Laptop in which rushing out to the shed using WIFI to
do some PIC Microcontroller Programing my sleeve caught the bloody door handle an
up and away my laptop went"crashed flat onto concrete drivway" being a Hard Drive
Instant kill.3months later I am running fine like before, butas usual VISTA has NF.EXE
issues no matter what I do with Admin access. So please dont assume just because
you dont have issues nobody else in the world doesnt. If Microsoft didnt have any
issues there would never be a thing called Patches."

NF hates Wifi. Use a fire. Oh, and run NF in 98 Compatibility mode. I never got crashes on
Vista.

Would be nice though, this would stop Ledan in his tracks :)
But disconnects don't really worry me too much.

I don't buy the 'people should do the right thing' line of thought, nor that I'm
entitled to my spoils of victory, or you're entitled to yours.

By that token, I will immediately disconnect if I lose vets or accidentally TK, for
being someone that's motivated by EXP gain, no point staying if I'm ending up with
nothing anyway.

If someone's life, or the fate of the universe depended on it, then yes without doubt
I would fight till the end.

But as it is, the only things at stake is someone else's satisfaction, ego, a
win/loss and a few extra numbers on the EXP screen. And for me, that's nothing
worth wasting my time over.

I've had my fair share of ships disappearing too, just as I'm about to sink them.
But it's no big deal, on to the next game then.

Life is too short to be worrying about other people's gaming ethics.

"ever consider that some of us dont have the money to blow $300 on prem, or omg blow
the same amount on drivers and sound cards.

anti-rec"

Actually, it is to combat those CV drivers that disconnect when they are losing, and the
people that disconnect to preserve their win rate.

I don't blow $300 on premium, and i've got a ?0 graphics card. I don't even have a sound
card. My computer does just fine.

Thus, your opinion has been proved to be utterly incorrect. Go back to disconnecting when
you lose.
