I think this is better.

I think if you put the stripes on both sides of the ship, it would look a lot better.
Actually I would get it if you did that, since the H44 looks dull as it is, and there isn't
any good sprites out there to do anything about it, except maybe this one.

Use color burn or alpha tweaks.
Here's an example that is simple blue and gray.

zoom in on the deck and really any solid color for that matter. when you get close enough
youll notice they are never 1 solid color that makes up that color. try adding the red in
spaces here and there only 1 shade lighter and darker. the fact the stripes are the same
color on the bow like that makes it stick out and look like it doesnt belong on the ship.

Try using layers and the blending option, will make it look way better.

not a bad *start*. go back and edit the wood deck... tint it or change it if your going
for the andrea doria look.
