  • I visited the actual CV Midway

it was very exciting to visit a CV for the first time :). one that sux about it is that
the museum ship closes on thanksgiving day which i cant tour the inside and the deck of
the ship :(. still i am able to get a few photos of it. also i was able to visit the
surrounding cvs that are parked around her(CV Midway)

I went there over the summer. The Midway is a beautiful ship. The tour on the inside
was definetely an eye opener. Also the fly deck was really cool! I regret not have
bothered to wait in line to visit the Bridge.

BTW, does anyone know what were the two CVs that you could see straight across the
bay?

The midway was a great boat to live on. Hope it gives you a little understanding of the
goings on aboard a naval Warship...


A bit of trivia, The USS Midway Lists 7 degrees to Port due to the angle deck that was
added during her modernization, this even with many of her Starbord side Balest Tanks
filled with Concrete...

The midway is cool, I have been there as well. Its also cool to be able to look from her
deck to naval shipyards near by. They were fixing CVs when I went CV-71 and CV-74 were
docked and repainting.
