  • Am I on the right track for getting a CV Easy?

Hey guys just had some thinking with this winter event going.

My BO i want to get into a CV is currently driving a Texas PCL at lvl 39. My thinking is
to leave him in this until lvl 46 then switch over to the New Orleans. From there if i
can snag the PCA (pescola), is it better to transfer him to that at lvl 51 and work up
to indy or to go to bouge at 50?.

Background informaion. I have never used a CV before and this is my Highest BO
(kinda sad but i dont get to play much). I have 4 rookies currently between lvls 35-
30 and a spec forces at lvl22 (am working on getting some more pilots up as I lvl my
other BO (lvl 17 atm =( ).

Any help here would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm slowly raising a US CV crew on Iowa server.
Key is to plan ahead for CV5+.
I've gone 6 FP + 2 DB, coz DB's can get you instant kills.
Besides, you can only have max of 8 pilots in use on any CV.

Don't skip the Bogue, CV1's earn great $$ in Blitz games.
Also, if you got a pair of good reload gunners, doing AA in GB's will let you level your
pilots up much faster until lvl 50-55.
Lastly, try to keep your pilots several levels above your BO.

Happy hunting.

Yeah locals are the low fuel ones that basically stay close by. they have 388 attack
versus the 130 or so regular level 40s. They cant go far but they give you a chance
to fight

I take it local fighters means ones with less fuel? Like the P-55 for lvl 40 pilots?

Best bet for using the bogue is to focus on Local fighters and when you arent flag
hug BBs and when enemy planes come in launch the locals for a quick defense. As
has been said with a Bogue short of players that are just rude there is not much
expected from you since if you use regular fighters they will die in seconds.

At least Locals stay alive awhile and kill stuff.

Thanks for the advice every one. Anyone is welcome to add differences in opinions as
well. Just waying up my options at the moment cause i dont want to get there and
realise i should have done something differently.

For planning ahead - I'd be thinking of 6 Fighter pilots and 2 Bomber of your
choice. Even a Bogue in Blitz can make massive cash from the Fighters, and you'll need
a lot of Credits to buy the next tiers of CVs

Thanks RickyRungail.

I understand that you dont need a BO for Premium ships and was planning on
leveling my fighters and eventually bombers (not sure which yet) higher while lvling
my other BO. Ive got 2 pritty good gunners now and will use them on any ship i
need so have got that covered and have a 3rd ive got to lvl up some.

How many pilots should I am for? I was thinking 4 fighters, 2 TB and 2 DB to give
versitility or should i have more fighters and all TB's?

As i understand it the main role for a CV is to kill the other CV's and to protect BB's.

Since you are a beginner, I would recommend the bogue to you, to get a feel what it's like
to play CV. Others might recommend the Indy directly but they may put you as a top target
list; a bogue can help you relax a little since other players that cry CV support will not
expect much from bogues and are little more understanding. I think you will likely play a
similar roles to AA.

Once you get used to be a CV player, you can freely skip the bogue.

Oh Important note, Prem ships (PCL and PCA) don't require a BO but they do need someone
with the appropriate level to run the ship. You can just avoid the BO after he gets your
bogue so your pilots can eventually outpace him. You will of course, definitely need some
gunners, preferably reload gunners for AA. These same gunners might prove useful for your
Yorktown.

P.S. I'm also a bogue player and I have to say it can be quite a pain for starting out as
TBers but it was something I had to get used to. Up to you if you want to class pilots
later as DBs but I'm keeping mine because USN has known to have better TB damage than DB
(seconded only to RN's). What I'm really after though are the fighters.

raise up another 4 pilots, 6 if you wanna be safe. Other wise, 4 pilots and 2
supports of your choice should get you to about lexi. and btw, grow a thick skin
cause if you use locals or Bomberwhore during GB's, you're gunna get chewed up
like the marines in boot camp!
