  • What makes people want to get a UK CV?

What makes people want to get a UK CV? Compared to other nations UK doesn't really have as
many advantages. I still understand how that could be fun but what made you want to get a
UK CV?

I had a UK BB, and I wanted a CV, so I bo-swapped it. I mean, that's it really. In
retrospect it was a stupid thing. Then I sold my BB crew and bought CV crew. Actually I
did it twice; I have two UK BOs, 77 and 87, both on CV line (I wanted to play Ark.) What
a stupid waste of money. Someday I will buy a UK BB crew and swap that BO back over.

edit: I still manual TB when I get the CV out. Im just not very good at it. I spend so
much time focusing on trying to do something with my fighters I never have the time to
TB, really.

The days of skilled manual TBers is long gone. The few that could manual TB well could look like they
were aiming at one BB, then suddenly change direction and torp the crap out of another ship last
minute.

I haven't seen someone skillfully manual TB for maybe 2yrs now.

I never had the patience or ping to manual TB like them.

I went UK CV originally because I needed money for BB line (this was before GB2). Still
there is something to be said about combined sailor trees. I have extensive crews for KM
and UK and sometimes it is tough (esp if you want to level up a new crew member).

The comment about TB is spot on. They are powerful but are largely not as effective as
they used to be because of GB2 and heavy bulge. The lighter objects (SS in particular)
are your main targets). I always thought it would be interesting if they boosted UK TB
damage, reduced bulge defense (but they would have to lower significantly the SS torpedo
damage).

I think manual TBing is the key. The thing I am amazed at is even doing this the BBs
still seem to know they are coming..... when I am BBing the only time I am looking at my
ship is (a) to change heading (b) to check clearance on ships nearby or (c) shooting down
planes with AA. The rest of the time I am OTH (Over the Horizon) looking at target and
shell drops.

"Yes TB can be awsome, but still they need more time for preper good attack, more time on
selecting target, some luck (if your target notice you you will have much more difficult
life), they have to be better than DB (vets, boost, exp's, base) becous AAW, lot's of
ships have lot's of bulge - often you need 10 torpedo to bypass this, and most important -
player mast to be much more skilled than DB operator. I like them, they are more funny,
but overal they are less effective to."

>>> TB can be as much, if not more effective than DB. You need more skill, which is hard to find, but
it doesn't make TB any less effective. Likewise, you need skill in a BB6. An idiot in a BB6 doesn't
mean that it is less effective.

DB may be more useful in a GB, where most people are packing bulge, but in fleet events like HA, TB
are more useful since people use less bulge. Its far easier to oneshot a BB without bulge with TB,
even if it takes you an extra run to kill him if he has bulge, than to oneshot a BB with DB. Unless you
know what you are doing, its damn near impossible to oneshot a BB5 with DB

I really want a UK CV because I love how their planes look. But at the same time I really
want a US CV because of all the nice advantages and plus a nice person gave me a level 50
US FP for free.

Royal Navy and the Fleet Air Arm is what made me get a Royal Navy carrier although
I've not used them in yonks and am more into my destroyers at the moment.

Or you've been playing this for 5-6years... and you get bored playing one line... so start
another?

when the Ruskies come out, I'm prob going to start a line there too.

not everybody makes 8932583 different nation sailors for each of the ship types that
they want to play.

typically most of the people running around with multi-national crews in BBs, SSs & CVs
have either too much free time on their hands, unlimited funds for buying up premium
sailors like canday, or have been in the game for years upon years and have built up a
surplus of sailors.

if you've got a UK BB, outside of training up pilots and another BO, you do have the
advantages of having engine & repair sailors already leveled that you can pluck onto
your CV for added benefit.

myself, I've got 3 UK crews on the go, and the only reason I have a yank crew at all is
the fact that I want to pick up a medic for my CV crew.

I started UK CV when their fighters were considered some of the best. Then SDE changed it.

And a properly skilled TBer can do as much, if not more, damage than a DBer. The days of skilled
TBers is gone though.
