Welcome to my guide for the Soviet Nation. This guide outlines and demonstrates the
Soviet Nations AA Angles including those critical Angles known as Golden Angles.
With the release of the Soviet Nation on the Navyfield live servers on the 10th of March
2011 this guide is designed to inform players who are grinding up Soviet Lines in
regards to Soviet AA Capability and their engagement angles/altitudes in
correspondence to the engagement envelope of the typical circle.

Table of Contents:

- Part 1 = Introduction
- Part 2 = Golden Angles
- Part 3 = Version/Revision History

Please keep in mind that this is a translation from a guide. There may have been
changes and adjustments to the Anti-Aircraft Artillery that would influence the changes
in Golden Angle.

Alright, after further testing I think I can say fairly confidently that all the guns on this
list I have tested are listed incorrectly. The problem seems to stem from a
misunderstanding of what the "golden angle" is on trainworld, and is a little difficult
to explain given how goofy the NF physics system is, but basically it breaks down like
this.

Instead of calculating hits at a given range based on angle, what you should be
looking at is the angle at which the shell stays at the top of its parabolic arc for the
longest. Shells in NF don't behave in terms of real world physics in terms of sticking
to an actual parabola, but instead usually sort of flatten out at the top of it, and
when this flat area corresponds to height of default planes is where you should have
your guns defaulted to. As others have correctly stated, its really generally a
"guideline" more then a rule, and you should be adjusting based on distance and
plane height rather then just spamming at the golden angle, but long story short you
can safely add at least 1 degree (sometimes 2) to basically all of these numbers to
get an angle that is closer to the trainworld ones.

I realize you don't have any reason to believe some random forum dude, but for
what its worth I am a returning beta player and have spent probably 60% of the
games I have been back flacking with various nations (US and KM mostly).

Worth noting that from what I have found so far, a lot of these seem to be a little low
(it could be because my gunners are currently low level). If you are having trouble
hitting planes though, try adding 1-2 degrees to a few of these.

Edit: Yeah I'm currently on the Minizinis and they are clearly 35, if not 36.

There are no machine gunners for SN, they have been disabled.

Normal gunners also use AA guns.

do these require regular gunners or the machine gunners?

*****************************************************************
NOTE: In order to use Soviet AA you must class the gunners in the same fashion as
you would with regular gunners. That means you will have two pairs of Chief
Gunners. The first pair will operate the Main Guns , the second pair will operate the
DP/AA Guns. This is exactly the same way to class it in regards to the Marine
Nationale.
