Well, I haven't been paying much attention to NF the last year or so. Certainly I haven't
played in that time. I'm thinking the recent server merge and the release of the Soviet
navy is enough to get me to come back, at least for a little while to check out what's
going on these days... but anyway, I digress.

Does it strike anybody else as being very ironic that they chose to name the Soviet CV6
"Tsar?" I mean, seriously...

Judging from the Buck Turgidson Avatar...that man is trolling the Russians...

"It is quite fitting that it is called the Tsar, Tsar is what the russians called there
king or
supreme rulers. "

Considering circumstances of the formation of the USSR and uprising against the Tsar they
certainly would not have named a ship "Tsar"

Desolate
Should've named the QV "King Henry VIII"

*snickers*

2nd verse, same as the first!

Nothing ironic about Kaiser (which is a rather bad name, I agree... it should have been
Vaterland, or at least Kaiser Wilhelm), Queen Victoria, or Hindenburg. In fact, historians
have speculated that Hindenburg would have likely been the name of the first of the
H-class battleships, if any of them had ever actually been named.

Meh, Hitler did not like the Kaiser, I doubt he will name his most powerful and newest
battleship after either of those people...

The Royal Navy only names their ship classes after the name of a Monarch when a new
monarch succeeds the throne; the KGV was an exception due to KGVI wanting to name
the ship after his father.

I know SDE hasn't ever been good at picking out names for their made-up designs, but Tsar?
Obviously the fact that the Soviet Union existed as a direct result of the Russian
revolution which *overthrew* the Czar/Tsar didn't really occur to them.

Or maybe it did, and they were deliberately trying to make a joke, or something.... but
I've never known SDE to have that kind of sense of humor. Or a sense of humor at all, really.
