I know it wasn't the smartest decision, but I wanted to play with a blocking York in blitz, so I got a EBVE Acc gunner and classed them as Acc.
I realize this means that I can't hit reload cap till early 100s, but I'm wondering if there's a way to mitigate this a little:
Delay classing them as Acc. Huge Gunners (normally at 65) until I hit Nelly/PoW level (around 80 with BOs, but gunners will be in 90s since I'm running both lines).
This means I'm effectively stuck in my Resolution or Dunkerque until then, might buy a Repulse for a change to KM playstyle for awhile if I get bored, but overall that's not too bad. There's not real reason for me to use a QE if I have a Resolution right?
So what this means is: Essentially from 65 to 85-90 ish, my gunners will have 6 less ACC but 4 more RLD growth than standard classed gunners. I think their max crew (Recruit) gain rate might be worse than standard classed gunners, I don't know how much of an effect this has though.
I rechecked the Sailor Ability guide and a base 10 UK ACC gunner with 100 vets hits his acc cap at 63. This is before the level 65 classing to Huge Gunner, so if I leave the classing as is, there should be theoretically no negative impact on my accuracy, only on my crew growth rate.
Essentially, the only reason I need to class them at all is to access the Nelly/PoW tier guns (probably skipping KGV) as Dunkerque Quads, QE Guns, Dreadnaught guns, etc. can all be used without a Huge Gunner.
So is the Ability guide out of date? Or will this let me hit my reload cap before the usual level 110?
