Torpedos in Blitzkrieg mode are being highly abused.
Torpedos are being fired in consecutive waves by 5-6 DD at a time and are preventing
players from fully enjoying the game because they just died from a hit by 10 torpedos.

In all honesty, prevent torpedos from being a useable weapon in Blitzkrieg entirely
(yes, I know that CV would not be allowed to use the torpedos on their planes, but that
is what bombers are for and you are just as viable going into GB2 anyways). In doing
so, Blitzkrieg would actually be a fight and not a 15-second match.

I agree in principle with what the OP is saying. The problem is that with a small map, a
few players on one side dropping walls of well spread, slow moving torps force the entire
team back to the wall. Its not that it isn't easy to see the slow moving wave coming. The
problem is that one or two ships are effortlessly able to change the gameplay for 40 other
people.

As Mako has pointed out, so many people like hobbit map because it forces the game to end
faster, and thus believe it gives them more XP. This style of left click shooting and
small map is creating the lack of ship driving skills and making for terrible players.

It was never a problem until Hobbit map became default. Change the map or close
with fewer people. In the end, those people who use nothing but torps will most
likely suck when they get to higher tier ship and have little or no gun skills.

But hey, from what I was told, people asked for the map to be changed to hobbit
so thank them.

Okay...

My point here being is that I do not want to have 9" of bulge armor or some crap on
a CL just to avoid damage from a torp wave that I CANNOT avoid. In Hobbit War, you
have 3-6 people who always start off launching 2-3 waves of 10 torps per ship...
what happens 10 seconds later? 10 ships just went off the field.

The idea of Blitzkrieg, I understand, is to have a blazingly fast match. But when that
match is made imbalance by the abuse of torpedos, then something needs to be
changed.

N2m, I do not run into the torpedos, I am always to busy shooting at some CL or CA
to realize that 6 torps just showed up in my field of vision - so dodging the torpedos
comes down to one of a few things: Do I have engines at full-blast? Am I able to
effectively dodge the torpedos? Am I able to take 1-2 torpedos without taking to
much damage?

The problem, again, is the overuse, and abuse, of torpedos in Blitzkrieg. They need
to be removed. (If you havent noticed, this is no nerf to CV players. They have GB1
they can play as well, and would more than likely be better for them. And subs are
not Blitzkrieg material, so no nerf on their part.)

And I realize that DD need some way to fight off a larger ship, but these days that
isnt the case. These days a DD is controlled by a player of level 80+ using a lower
level BO because he got sick and tired of GB2. In the past 2 months I have only seen
3 new players, and they were doing just fine without torpedos.

As an older player recently returned, I have to say the Hobbit War map (as has been
referred to here) starts out with players almost in range. It makes for a fast paced
slugging match and a well driven Kitakami can wreck havoc. Higher end CAs and BBs
(IMO) have an even bigger advantage. Not quite one shot capable, but certaning 3
or 4 shoting ships with regularity.

Why or how hobbit war came into being is unknown to me (not that I care that
much). It makes for some fun, as long as you accept the premise that it has no basis
in tactical reality. It reminds me of some of the confused night actions around
Guadalcanal. Quite frequently you end up hitting you own ships (even though it is
due to proximity in NF rather than misidentification in the night battles around the
canal.)

ok man serouis tho torps (from subs) piss me off some times but you still can dodge
them and im ina vanguard your probly DD CL or something donno k you need to
learn how to dodge and fast if you want any high lvl ship
