EBB-New York
The New York, like LordKelvin has said is an event ship, that must be won in a TNF
sponsored event or bought from a player who got one from said TNF event. The NY has 5
main R slots, using the special dual 14"/ 45 cal Mark 12. This gun set is not selectable
from the normal loadout screen and is unique to the NY. The max angle for these guns is
15 degrees, the shallowest for any of the US BB's. The shallow gun angle and the built in
high shell velocity enables the NY to different than any other ship in the US line.
Commonly referred to as "laser-beam" guns, when fired the shells travel faster and hit
harder than most guns at level. When driven by an experienced player, the ship can wreak
havoc on the enemy line, sending most...if not all shells into the belt of the enemy ship.
Since most BB's do not readily mount belt armor this is a supreme advantage coupled with
the fact that the NY shells are extremely difficult to dodge. Another advantage is the
size of the NY and the rarity of it. Most players will fail to account for the NY in
battle and therefore underestimate it--some even mistaking it for a CA due to its small
size(considering most players will not have ever seen one in battle).
Regarding setup--
There is little choice here but to run the given gunset with the NY, since you cant even
select another set. AA batteries on the NY should not be run as it can only mount the
weakest guns in the US line. Displacement is always an issue with the NY as most people
who have it, have relatively heavy crews. Expect to use what little speed you can get out
of it, so go engineer heavy when playing. Mount bulge armor at your own choice. Ammo
wise, use only HE since AP ammo is useless at the shallow angles that you will be shooting.
When playing--
I always play the NY as a middle of the road picket ship--staying somewhat behind the main
BB line. Use the NY to obliterate anything that tries to break through your own lines and
only start to engage the enemy BB's if ...
1. they do something stupid like rush
2. they are engaging a larger BB
3. they are somewhat crippled/blind
