I know this has been suggested many times, but I want to add it here in lieu of bumping an old post, or creating a new one.
This game cries out for an all in one, DETAILED reference guide. I am talking about some sort of PDF file, or something similar that can be downloaded and printed to be able to use as reference whenever needed.
Many, MANY people do not have the time to search here, and search there, and newer players don't have the ability to separate facts from opinions here on the forums. That last point could either cause people to quit reading the forums and learning from more experienced players (therefore becoming the perpetual noob), or give up on the game altogether.
Obst's site is great, Trainworld is packed with info, and the forums here are also loaded. The problem is, it is not all in one place. Clearly that is SDE's responsibility, since no player is going to have the time nor the money to spend to create such an all-encompassing guide. Of course, all this is moot if SDE doesn't have a clue, and simply can not do this for whatever reason, such as not actually having the answers.
Chilton's doesn't make the manual for the 1999 Ford Taurus in 24 different sections that you have to buy in 12 different places.
