@rayfish Yes, it does lag right before you bomb, like 80% of the time (dunno how is this even posible, lags are supposed to be random, right?). And I'm not running in a uber laggy connection, I only get one lag every couple of minutes.
I'm a fatal enemy of everything automatic. So I when I got my CV 5 days ago, manual DB was a must. After reading this guide I was not clear in a few points: 1. There is no need to hold the ; key while you left click to DB (I misunderstood a bit there). 2. After you have selected a target spot, trying to target another different spot only cancels the dive. You need to target twice to switch to a new target point (you can do it in quick succesion, or use some kind of "aid"). 3. There is no need to press the . (dot) key multiple times, you can just press and hold. It works a bit different when you do this, as DBs tend to drop the bombs a bit too early. So you must aim a bit beyond the target ship, or even better, aproach from the back of the ship and line up your bomb run with the ship. 4. It is not necessary to be at max altitude to be able to initiate manual DB. Your planes will raise automatically when you select a target. This helps a lot to avoid AA fire, but your planes must have reach max altitude to drop bombs.
I DB like this: My planes approach their target ship at medium altitude avoiding AA gun fire, as they close in I set a target spot, they raise up avoiding the target ship's automatic machine guns, then I correct the target spot (several times on occasions) and finally press and hold . (dot) key. If any lags happen I right click to order the planes to move, canceling any dive (which wont work during a lag).
I still have lot of problems predicting which direction the ship will move, and aiming bomb just enough ahead of the ship so they land on target. PBBs (Doria,Sevas) are specially hard to DB like this =/.
