Hi.

I had multiple issues with NF in the last days, however I came across a tool that
fixed it for me.

The problems included:

-the login-process timing out
-often getting "connection lost"errors , during games, in the harbor and at the login
screen
-blackscreen-freeze while loading
-whitescreen-freeze when the view shifts to the port at the start
-being unable to control the ship ingame

Those were all fixed for me with this program but I would like to get it tested by
more people.

If you are willing to try something on your own risk then please follow this and
report back:

Go to

Please download the tool called "TCP Optimizer".

To use it, first select the network adapter you use and then your connection speed
by using the top slider.

Then go to FILE and create a backup of your current settings.

Then select "OPTIMAL SETTINGS" in the lower right of the "GENERAL SETTINGS" tab.

Click "APPLY CHANGES" and restart your PC.

Now check NF if the problems were solved and PLEASE REPORT BACK HERE!

Also please check if you have NetLimiter installed. If you have it installed please
uninstall it! It is causing problems with NF!

Thx obst, this really worked. logged into NF 1/2 hr ago, got black screen, logged into
here, read ur post & loaded this speedguide. worked right away on nextlog-in to NF. BIG
thx to u!! lol. now am of to sink myself--er some-one else i mean. lol

TCP optimizer will only help ona dialup account as i have a 1meg line in not going to help at all. i
still get all of the bug apart from the login one. was ok for a week then to day it lagg and
timeout all the time. and my server not the bismark

Back to Topic:
I have the same problems: Lag and losing Connection.

I noticed the following:

It startet a few deays ago, before that i could play with minimal lags.
I didnt change my system, it already has an optimized connection (with the tool you listed
/ 6Mb Flat - Provider Alice-DSL/Germany).
I made a full scan for viruses, spam, ads, worms and so on the day, reinstalled Navyfield,
deleted the folder of it between uninstall and reinstall, defrag my HD with OO Defrag
Professional, cleaned registry (with Regsurpreme Pro and Reg Seeker) after uninstall and
reboot before the new installation and also free some diskspace for windows.

I was already a little sourly because of the errors in Op-Convoy games that happened when
it changed from round 4 to round 5 (lost about 12 hours playing :() and I did not think
that it even couold come more badly.

And then this happens and now its still the same. Well, just now i look and see that its
still running, but i think i only lose connection when in battle or in the preparing
battleroom (not sure about that but i dont lose it right now).

I think i did all i could do. Could you help? I wish, but if it will always be like this
there would ne no real reason to continue playing, even 4 levels before the BB.

Finally: I think your Programm could improve a Computers connection to the Internet, but i
also think it wont help on the Problem right now.

obst you were right....

Thank You. I have NEVER been able to connect to Navyfield while my Teamspeak was up and
running, but that program has allowed me to.

I tried looking for net limited, its not on my computer and i still have the problem. Is
this a bug that your guys are actually working on or something your setting aside for
later?

Please check if you have NetLimiter installed.

If you have it installed please uninstall it!

It is causing problems with NF!

I was wondering if more that the team nf are working on this. I can't move, i loose
connection and get stuck on the white screen, and none of your recommendation
seam to work. Could it be that the game itself has something wrong with it and the
game itself has to be fixed? I cannot even move my damn ship for crying out loud.
Need help bad!

Another symptom of incorrect MTU value is certain websites timing out on your PC.

To find the perfect MTU do:;

Start -> Run -> cmd

type:

ping www.google.com* -f -l 1500

*try your router's ip too.

It'll come back saying "packet needs to be fragmented but DF set."

So try a lower value;

ping www.google.com -f -l 1440

k, that should return a normal ping result, but the ideal mtu is the highest value you
can ping without getting that packet fragmented message so keep trying.

XP can go a bit funny about changes to the MTU so it may need a bit of trial and
error in setting the value to find the real life best one.
