Trees (to large to post, copy paste into your browser)
*ignore French and Italian DD lines, they are being changed
France - http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/Rengokuy/FrenchTree.jpg
Italy - http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/Rengokuy/ItalyTree.jpg
Russia - http://i73.photobucket.com/albums/i211/Rengokuy/RussiaTree.jpg

*Updating ships to match the trees
Edit - Richelieu remodel to Jean Bart, not Gascagone
Edit - Bearn remodel to Joffre (as they have same capacity, one just trades
armor/armament
for speed)

-for people who want to know the capabilities of the guns, nearly all are found on
this website http://www.navweaps.com/

(boring intro section, scroll past to get to the ships and pretty pictures)
Short and Sweet, the French and Italians had good strong navies during WWII.
Both would be workable into the current game, ideally as their own nation, using
their own crews.

The French Navy would be a speedy one at that. Range would be rather long,
either equal to or a bit farther than most german guns at level. French DD's will be
some of the best in game, each with high damaging, fast firing guns. CL's and CA's
would be fast hard hitters that don't present much of a target, but they will be very
vulnrable to shell fire as they didn't mount much armor, a problem remidied in the
BB's. The French carriers would all be rather slow, their aircraft typical until higher
levels. BB's would all be above average, with long firing guns. (don't let the PBB
Dunkerque fool you, they had much better range than that)
Richelieu's guns had a longer range than the Iowa's.
All battleships would be capable of defending themselves from aircraft as well.

As for the Italian Navy, it would be a nation of Cruisers and AA guns. Heavy and Light
Cruisers would be the strongest of any nation in the game. DD's would be a trick to
use. All would have few mounts (usually only 2 or 3) but remain the same size as
other nations DD's. BB's would be typical until higher levels when they improve
drastically. Italian Carriers would be tend to have a little less plane space than their
counterparts, but be able to equip much heavier armament. Italian guns in general
had very long ranges, even over german guns. This was achieved at the grave price
of short barrel lives. The FCS system was very effective, tight salvos are to be
expected. Armor would be rated in giving about 20% stronger than the USN armor.

The Russian navy. Well, they will be very interesting indeed. Right from the beginning
they get very fast destroyers with considerably heavy armament. Russian cruisers
will be a bit more difficult to use. Their armament usually lighter than ships of the
same weight, their only advantages being tight salvos and small profiles. The
Russian battleships will be, for lack of better words, terrors to fight. The early on
ones based of the Gangut class, they are small targets with a lot of guns, the only
disadvantage being lack of AA defense, a problem remedied at the BB4 and 5 level,
the ships here built in practice with current US ones (iowa and montana). Even their
aircraft carriers are well armed, each making good speed and decent capacity. As for
their aircrafts, figters will be good, but bombs and torpedoes relativily weak.

Those ships were all either used by the Free french, or sunk at Scapa Flow. None were used
by the Axis powers. (granted they raised a few of the hulks, they were only scrapped and
used for their own navies and armies)

It's been suggested since the dawn of time ;) There were a pair of screenies of a
French and Italian BB that were floating around in the GD section, although we're
not sure whether they're official or something from an illegal server.

if they added the french fleet they need to add italian fleet but as both sides had
not so much the italian should be KM, French should be UK. and then they needed
the balance each other and nerf nerf buff buff etc etc

Battlsship - Project 23 Bis 70000 - 80000t ????????
12 - 16in/50 (4x3)
????????
Created as a Rival of the Montana class, plans were never carried out. Little information
is left other than it's drawings.

Battleship - Sovyetskiy Soyuz Class (1939) 59150t - 65150t 28 knots
9 - 16in/50 (3x3)
12 - 5.9in/50 (6x2)
Belt - 16 3/4in Deck - 8 3/4in
Powerful ships that made it to construction, but no completion. Favorable to the Iowa Class.

Battlecruiser - Borodino Class (1912) 32500t - 38000t
12 - 14in/52 (4x3)
24 - 5.1in/55 (24x1)
Belt - 9 3/8in Deck - 4in
Paper ships that used the tired but true Gangut (Sevastapol in game)hull, only with a
raised forecastle, and more displacement, allowing larger guns and more armor.

Battleship - Imperatritsa Mariya Class
12 - 12in/52 (4x3)
20 - 5.1in/55 (20x1)
Belt - 10.5in Deck - 3in
Basically, a repeat of the Gangut (Sevastapol in game) with a larger displacement.

*line drawing a different class, although only a repeat of the Mariya with more armor

Battlecruiser - Kronshtadt Class (1939) 35240t - 38360t 33 knots
9 - 12in (3x3)
8 - 5.9/50 (4x2)
Belt - 9in Deck - 3.5in
Paper ships, very similar to the Alaska class in concept and praticaliaty.

Aircraft Carrier - Kostromitinov 40800t - 51200t 32 knots
16 - 5.9in (8x2)
106 aircraft

Premium Light Cruiser - Novgorod (1873) 2491t 6.7 knots
2 - 11in (1x2)
Belt - 9in Deck - 2.5in
I am slightly serious about adding this ship as the PCL. In all honesty, everyone would
buy one. It's only about as long as an FF (100ft), shaped like a saucer, has a ton of
armor, and is just a floating armored turret. It's only drawback would be slow speed.

Light Cruiser - Chapayev Class (1938) 11300t - 15000t 34 knots

Battleship - Provinces
Armament - 6 or 9 17.7in
There is a lack of a BB5 for the French Navy, therefore, keeping as historically accurate
as possible. I propose that the never built 17.7 in gun be mounted on a modified Alsace
Class in triple turrets. The gun, developed in 1920, was rejected as the main armament
over the 15in for Battleships. Since Navyfield takes free liberty in ships that could be
and others that clearly never were. (Graf Zepplin II, DDX, Z-99, Tsukike, I'm looking at
you) Since those ships were included, I really don't think this would be too much to ask.
Here are the guns specifics.

all French carrier projects, in case the Diximude and Commadante Teste are unfavored.
(also look at the PA - 5b and PA - 6, they would be a great addition if you were to split
French CV lines into heavily armed slow CV's and fast lightly armed ones)

Carrier 5 - PA-14 (1935) - 19000t
Armament - 12 3.9in 77 Aircraft
A variant of the PA-13 only with a smaller island and larger plane space. In theory it
would be said that it origanlly would hold 77 bi-planes so therefore could hold more than
77 folding wing aircraft. So ingame it would have more capaciaty (thank you navyfield
physics) and be the final, and largest French Carrier.

Carrier 4 - PA-13 (1935) - 19000t
Armament - 12 3.9in 70 Aircraft
One of many plans drawn up leading to the Joffre, PA-13 first introduced the offset flight
deck (in order to counter the weight of the island) The large PA-13 had two hangers, and
a decent AA armament, as well as a turbo-electric drive. Never laid down, many featrues of
the PA-13 were included in the later Joffre.

Carrier 3 - Joffre (1938) 18000 - 20000t 33knots

Coastal Defense Battleship - Bouvines (1890) Bouvines Class 6681t 17knots
Armament - 2 12in (two turrets) 8 3.9in. Armor - 18in Belt 4in Deck
What will become the slowest, but best armored PCL in game, the Bouvines was a coastal
defense battleship designed to protect harbors from fast cruiser attacks. She embraces
the word battleship rather well despite her small size. With both armament and armor of
one, she will be a powerful ship that can take quite a beating. Of course all this comes
at a great cost of speed, although she is a small target, she is clearly not a fast one.

Intreasting destroyer, Made specificaly to escort the Dunkerque class. Only
shortcomming was that the guns couldn't elevate past 30 Degrees. It would be intreasting
to see two of these folowing a Dunkerque into battle.

* This is the Le Hardi

Destroyer- Aigle (1931) 2441t 36knots
Armament- 5 5.5in, 4 37mm, 6 21.7 TT Armor 3in Belt
A fast DD with rapid firing guns. She could easily take on a DDX.

Destroyer- Volta (1936) Mogador Class - 2885t 39knots
Armament- 8 5.5in, 10 31.7in TT 4 37mm (to lazy to convert) Armor-None
Her class served well with no major distinctions, both ships being scuttled. They will be
one of the more powerful DD's on the servers.

Destroyer - L'Adroit (1925) L'Adroit Class 1356t 33 knots
Armament - 4 5.1in, 6 21.7in TT
Early Destroyer class, served in WWII with the majority being sunk. What wasn't sunk
either got scuttled at Toulon or joind the Allies.

*Premium Battleship* Dante Alighieri (1910) 19,552t 22 knots
Armament - 12 12in, 20 - 4.7in
The first italian dreadnought. She mounted 4 triple turrets along the centerline,
resembling the Ganugut class, already in game, only with a smaller profile. She will serve
as the PBB, capable of handling herself without being overpowered.

Battleship - Cassone's 1921 45,000t 35-40knots
Armament - 8 - 18in, ???
A proposed ship by Ferdinando Cassone, there is little chance that they were even considered.

Battleship - Progetto UP41 (1936) 55,000t 30knots
Armament - 9 16in, 12 6in,
The powerful project battlship, none of which were made.

Battleship - Leonardo da Vinc or Imperio Roma ???? ??knots
Armament 12 - 15in 12 6in Floatplanes - 2
An enlarged Littorio design, simply a Littorio with a Y - turret

Battleship- Vittorio Veneto (1937) Littorio Class 40520 30knots
Armament- 9 15in, 12 6in, 4 4.7in, 12 3.6in, 20 37mm(AA), 16 20mm (AA), Armor
Floatplanes = 2 Reggiane Re2000
Most modern BB when war broke out, made to
have 16in main guns.

Battleship - Francesco Caracciolo (1910) Caracciolo Class 34,000t 28knots
Armament - 8 15in, 12 6in, 4 4in, 12 40mm
A never finished design that was laid down. All had to be stopped due to lack of
materials, if finished, they would have been more powerful then their contemporary
rivals.

Battleship- Conte Di Cavour Class (1937) 29032t 28knots
Armament- 10 12.6 in, 12 4.7in, 8 3.9in AA, 12 37mm, 16 20mm, Armor- 10in Belt
Could be compared to the Rebuilds of the Nevada and Pennsylvaina, to say the least.

Battleship Conte Di Cavor Class (1911) 22,992t 21.6knots
Armament 13 12in, 18 4.7in, 13 3in

Carrier - Imperio 45000t - 55000t
Armament - 8 6in Aricraft
The model featured below is preserved in Venice, it was believed to be a concept for the
Aquila but after much examination it was found to be a conversion of the Imperio Although
details
are scarce and there are no official documents anymore, it can be extrapolated that under
full load she would displace about 50000 - 55000 tons. This would put her at more DP than
the Saratoga. She would fit in as the Italian CV5 Officially, it it unnamed, I chose
Imperio since it is based off the Imperios hull. As for Aircraft numbers, I'm not sure, it can
only be assumed. I'd say about 9800 space.

Carrier - Bonfiglietti 1929 18000t 29 knots
Armament - 8 - 6in 48 (?) aircraft
CV4, the aircraft used when it was designed were considerably larger than the ones in
1940's, only 6 had folded wings, so it can be assumed that the number of Aircraft would be
considerably higher. The use of this design now allows no repeat of the CV 4 to CV5 <3

Carrier - Aquila (1926) 23350t 30knots
Armament- 8 5.3in 32 20mm AA 51 Aircraft
The closest thing the Italians had to a proper carrier. Originally the cruise ship Roma,
her conversion was halted and after the surrender she was sabataoged to prevent german
use. Post war she was raised for completion, but the plans didn't carry out, she was
scrapped in the early 50's.

Carrier- Sparviero 20knts
Armament - 6 6in 45 Aircraft
Originally the cruise liner Augustus, war stopped the conversion process. Unfinished she
was surrendered to the Germans, and eventually sunk as a block ship. She will most likely
be the most bizzare looking ship in the entire game, her former hull clearly visable under
the narrow flight deck. A decent airwing and heavy armament makes up for her slow speed.

Aircraft Cruiser - Rota Project 1925 (1925) 12500t
Armament- 8 7.9in 25 Aircraft
A paper ship designed when the Italian navy was trying to develop a hybrid anti aircraft
ship, capable of heavy AA fire and launching Fighter planes. Essentially a heavy cruiser
(mounting two quad 7.9in guns) and a full length flight deck. The entire Anti aircraft
Cruiser poject, and all designs, including the Rota were cancled. In Navyfield she will
provide a brutal escort carrier, speedy and heavily armed, she would be capable of
protecting the other carriers from most ships. As noted, her funnles and mast were
actually ont he centerline of the flight deck, they would be collapsed during flight
operations and the sidemounted funnles would be swung up. In game I figure it would appear
with the funnles and masts down. (though it would look nicer with them up)

Aircraft Cruiser - Bolzano (1942) 9000t 25knots
Armament - 10 - 3.5in 12 Aircraft
In 1942, Italy was in dire need of a ship capable of AA and fighter escort, it was decided
upon to that the Heavy cruiser Bolzano, which had been nearly destroied and in serious
need of repairs, and convert her into an aircraft transport capable of operations as well.
The ship was to be gutted, two catapults fitted, and a massive overhaul to complete the
project. Construction never began and all ideas were abandoned.

*Premium Heavy Cruiser - San Giorgio (1908) 10167t 23.2knots
Armament- 4 10in, 8 7.5in, 3 17.7in TT Armor- 8in belt
Built as an armored cruiser, the Sang Giorgio serverd in both world wars and the
Italian-Turkish War. By WWII she was hopelessly outdated, lacking the fire control
systems and armor to take on modern heavy cruisers. It was then decided to modernize her
into a monitor for the African coast, and put a heavy AA armament on. She spent the war in
Tobruk, fortified almost like a floating fortress. She even slowed the british advancement
at one point with her main cannos, but all for not, when the British entered Tobruk the
Italians scuttled her. After the War in 1951, she was raised and towed back to Italy, only
to sink in transit. In game she would appear in her origianl layout, before modernization.

Heavy Cruiser - Trento (1926) 13000t 36knots
Armament - 8 8in 12 3.9in Armor 2.7in belt 3 floatplanes
The first Italian cruisers that complied to the Naval Treaty, she was also the first to
really sacrafice armor for speed. Together with her 2 sister ships (Trieste and Bolzano)
she formed a attack squad that operated throughout the Mediterranean. She was torpedoed
durning Operation Vigorous and sunk with heavy loss of her crew.

Heavy Cruiser - Bolzano (1928) 13200t 36knots
Armament - 8 8in 12 3.9in Armor 2.7in belt 3 floatplanes
Technically a member of the Trento class, she was built two years later and included many
modfications, so she was more of a half sister ship than a true one. She served
undistinguished though out the war until being heavily damaged by a British submarine.
Her damage was extensive and plans were made to convert her into a fighter/AA escort.
(Pictured above in the carrier section as a remodel) Plans never went through and she was
captured by the Germans, sunk then sold for scrap post war.

Heavy Cruiser- Zara (1930) 11680t 32knots
Armament- 8 8in, 16 3.9in Armor- 9in belt 2 Floatplanes

*Premium Light Cruiser - Dogali (1885) 19.7 knots
Armament - 4 6in Armor - 6in Deck
A thrid rate protected cruiser when she was built, she survived for 45 years being
scrapped in 1930. This is her true layout, fitting a PCL layout to the key, what she
lacks in firepower she makes up in heavy armor.

Light Cruiser - Abruzzi Class (1937) 9440 - 11,575t 34knots
Armament
10 - 6in/55 Mod 36 (2x3, 2x2)
8 - 3.9in/47 AA (4x2)
6 - 21in TT (2x3)
Aircraft - 3
Armor: Deck - 1.5in Belt - 5.1in

Light Cruiser- Duca D' Aosta Class (1932) 8317t 37knots
8 - 6in/53 Mod 29 (4x2)
6 - 3.9in/47 AA (3x2)
6 - 21in TT (3x2)
Aircraft - 3
Armor: Deck - 1.3in Belt - 4.1in

Light Cruiser - Capitani Romani Class (1939) 3686 - 5334t 40knots
Armament
8 - 5.3in/45 Mod 38 (4x2)
8 - 21in TT (2x4)

Destroyer- Turbine (1927) Turbine Class - 1560t 36knots
Armament - 4 4.7in, 2 40mm AA, 2 13.2mm AA, 6 21in TT, 52 mines. Armor - None
Despite being over 10 year's old when WWII started, the entire class served well, with
only the loss of 1 ship, to german aircrafr. Small, fast destroyers that can pack a punch.

APA - Type M2
The specifications of this ship are of no concern.
