  • Is colo worth the wait? if so, then why

I'm in me guam at lvl 63 and I'm thinking "there is no way in hell I can wait that long without a real good reason".
So why exactly is the colo worth it? is there some comparision I could use?
I just discovered the 16" duels (due to,ummm.... line choices, I am in posesion of 2 lvl 73 heavy rld gunners with over 160 experts and 109 vets)

I would suggest searching the old forum data (while in the US section of the forum, click view old data. When the frame comes up, search colorado there is about 100 threads discussing it as well as comparing to other lines and other ships). There will be useful information in there.

The main reason you will see people going for the colorado is its ability to run the mini monty setup (4 Trip 16's, however not the range of the montana). Fair warning though that this setup at level (as well as at 120) is still a squishy ship, and will only carry 2 binds. Other than that setup it is about on par with the other same tier USN BBs.

colo and tenn are the only BB2s that can equip the dual 16s. (4 binds ammo with colo, 3 binds in tenn)
personally i prefer those over the trip 14s.

Since your choice for your bb route is the colo or new mex, i'd say choose the colorado is more fun to play in because of its ability to use so many gun sets (dual 16s, trip 14s, or trip 16s). I wouldnt recommend the Trip 16s until your gunners and supports are higher level.

however, new mexico seems to be the fastest us bb2 i've found, being able to go 44 knots in my fat crew. Again, im not a big fan of the trip 14s (the only "proper" gun set for new mex). so if speed is your thing and u have some good engineers to back it up, you might like the new mex better.

(just remember, they only become bb2s after the remodle. ie. new mex, penny, tenny.)
the bb1 trip 14s are a beast tho. awesome on a 4-gunned ship

Also the NM30 has the same range as Guam, the same support slot put its slower. Pack more punch but still quite the food, for a lesser BB2. the 3x14" mk7 (bb2 14") also have spread issue at low level. More than the 2x16" mk2 I find.

As far as fastest bb2 go, Penn43 takes the cake at lower level due to being easy to speedcap. Tenn and NM keep 44 at higher level tough.

Still prefer the penn over NM tough.

Your answer is yes its worth it to wait for colo. Guam spread improves after 65 anyway.

Because it's sexy. If you're going to get owned in GB, you might as well get owned in style.

Colorado.
It's worth it, and if you BVE your gunners and with 11 accuracy base,a little skills with anglesd you can play very well.
Max. range is the easiest way of battling in my opinion

As it is with most player. You'll discover by rushing many BBs that most don't know their mid angles, ans are easily defeated that way tough. Ships like the sodak and the penn43 are most adept at it.

You will probably get a BO reset during the event (i got 2 already). Just get the NMex then when your 70 reset to the Colorado. Colorado better in practically every area than the NMex remodel. That way you don't have to have a long grind and you still get the better ship. However, you might not want to waste the reset on such a small gap if you have other plans. The grind isn't long at all when compared with other nations like KM and IJN. USN is a little spoiled with long grinds besides the Iowa grind

you just waste on reset, lol, you could just get a seva or a pensacola(aa) and level till colo, grinding to 70 isn't that long, grinding from 103-120 is the very longest one

thanks for the info guys, but I decided after looking into the NM that it was the best for me.

I have been playing in it for a few days and I have to say it's the best BB I've played to date(lvled a fleetmates monty a bit back).
It's slow, and a good target
BUT, I put on the L version of the guams 14"s and it really hits home
4 binds of ammo putting out 12 shells per salvo
so far I've sunk quite a few BB345s who are foolish enough to allow me to get in range, and a nebby who was at the wrong place at the right time...

colo and tenn are the only BB2s that can equip the dual 16s. (4 binds ammo with colo, 3 binds in tenn)
personally i prefer those over the trip 14s.

no no not at all, if I want to I can mount the 16 duals with 3-4 binds of ammo
(I'm currently in the NM30)

alex3192,

when i said the dual 16s i meant the L versions. other versions are just not even worth mentioning.

also, the pre-remodle NM is still a bb1. the first set of trip 14s (Ls) are pretty awesome so yes they're good if you can get in range.

the 2nd set of 14s will get your more range (the ones you should use on the remodled NM). but the spread may not be very pretty.

good to know you're enjoying the us BB1s. they're awesome
