IJN usually goes 4/4 with reps and engs so you should put reps in T slots and forgo any AA since it sucks on low IJN BBs

With Hyuga you will be able to fit an entire BB6 crew on (aside of the AA gunners).
If you want to use the Ise CV to act as a CV then get some fighters (or dive bombers).

The rest is simble.
Try getting engs with +12 eng and as much repair as you can find (also +12 but since finding one is RARE 11 will do).
The Repairers should optimally have 12 in rep.


As for playstyle changes... IJN has somewhat average range but unlike KM their shells actually hurt.

The high angle guns WILL take time to get used to. 

4 Engineers are a must.  You can sub/swap a seaman or two for the repair guys when/if you go the ISE CV route.  I wouldn't go ISE unless you are looking at doing the CV and I say that as an Ise driver.  The Fuso's guns are better placed than the Ise.  Run fighters off your ISE CV if you go that route.

lol so it's no different from my km support crew then. i'm  looking to buy a crew for ijn because as it stand i don't get alot of play time what with work and all but being low on creds the market for low level and cheap supports are really slim lol

I find the Fuso with 16d to be the most fun of any BB in the game. It is a challenge for sure... you really have to read the battle well to know when to rush in quick. Aiming will take getting used to with the limited turret angles and high gun angles. But, the reward is oh so sweet when you get it right.

Go the Fuso line for sure.

It has been one of the funnest ships I've used in this game.

I used it right up to Yamato skipping the Nagato. Not that it's a bad ship but the Fuso is just so much fun if used right.
Short range is an issue but played right the Fuso can be a ship to be weary of. Striking at the right time to finish off damaged BB4's and 5's is simply awesome. Rushing a blind opponent and taking out a BB5 on your own is even better.

The Ise was also a fun ship but like most I preferred the Fuso.

well i am certainly no authority on BBs...here is my experience

i used the engies i was readying for the ss5 for my BBs
i never had above a 32-33 speed...up to nagato...the engies were a yellow, one elite, a base 9 and a base 10...all BVE by the nagato and ss4...

as i completed my ss5 max 120 run...the engies became levels 118, 117, 116 and i sold a level 117 cheap(base 9) and replaced him with a base 11 level 103...reps were at 116 and a level 91 i developed lateBase 11 and 12)

now as i drove nagato and fuso and even B65 to the yamato, the engies that would fit allowed speeds around 36-37 on these ships

on yammie, i have found that the 4 engies produce 39 knots with only bulge and 36-37 knots with some paper deck plating(yah yah i know, but it has a purpose of life extension so i can be more aggressive)...and those same 2 reps produce a fairly speedy healing rate...

the other slot is for the scout... 

i would think hyuga would have those seven same slots for support.....and QUALIFIED engies and reps could be used in a 4 engie/2 rep combo with a scout

additional reps could be placed in T slots, but i use phh(never leave dock without it)

i'm rather surprised this got resurrected, as it stands i hav the hyuga so theres that. as for this post to me it's usless at this time but for someone new they may find it helpful, back when picking ise or fuso however i found the ise to be a good "training" ship to get a person used to what the hyuga is like
