from what i played until now i would suggest you to play the capitano romani/bolzano line. smaller ship (cl) with enough firepower plus u get an additional support slot. As for guns upto ca lvl use the 6" EOC single guns with heavy shells. they will give you enough firepower and range (more than all the rest available). I havent gotten any further so for the rest ask someone else :P

Thanks. The single 5.9's have decent spread at lvl 30 but even with an elite/boosted veted BO I'm still not seeing the shells at max. The spread on the trips was horrible, manageable on the duels, but I'd almost want the bad spread and the duels over the singles.

Is the Italian AA any good? My lvl 30 crew is all elite/boosted. 3 engies, 1 repairer, 2 gunners and a soon to be scout (not elite but who cares). Worth picking up aa gunners? Or is it like UK with bad aa?

I'll get at least 1 more repairer and try and buy another engy soon. I like that line you suggested. Why did they get rid of the Italian PCL? Every other nation has one.

I can't say I've been all that impressed with the RM guns up until lvl 38. The duel 6'' guns at lvl 35 or 36 weren't bad. I just got the lvl 38 duels but haven't tried them. The single 6's are as I said ok spread/reload wise but I seemed to get more attack with the bad spread duels.

We'll see I'll be in the 40's tomorrow hopefully the cl/ca's get better.

I suggest the bottom CL route and only the bottom BB route if and ONLY if you have the PBB. If you dont have the PBB, then the top BB route.

BTW, the Romani reminds me a lot of the Z99 before TNF nerfed it 5 years ago. The z99 then was playing like a cl/ca. This does the same.

So, I've had a chance to play both the Zara and Bolzani. Not much time in either, but the Bolzani is fun with the trip 6'' guns. You take a huge range nerf doing that, but it was fun. A little like playing a decent crewed Cleveland.

I have e/b/v gunners so the 8'' guns on the Zara were fun to play. Of the two, the Zara is my favorite so far.

That said, the Moltke is a better PCA than the Zara. I think the Zara is probably about as good as a D-land with a decent crew. 

I'm around lvl 57 now. The Zara is a decent ship and much better at short/mid ranges than it is at long ranges. The long range shots basically suck. I kept the 8'' guns on it, which as I said aren't very good at long range, but at short/mid they are great/fantastic. I've had several games where I was the last ship and it was 4-1 or 7-1 and I won it because the guns are good when people rush.

That said, the angles are weird and it's not as good as the Moltke but it still is a good ship. I'm waiting out for the lvl 59 ship as suggested here. Thanks again for all the suggestions.
