The pensacola is the absolute best ship in the game...with an at level crew you may find it challenging getting attcack against high lvl ships, and the reload time is not that great.

When your crew get's into the 90's and above you should be able to AA very well and get decent attack.  Above lvl 110 200k attack is possible, with 100k being easy.

Boost your support crew if you can, and they are the absolute first priority when boosting unless you're playing a CV. Engineers are particularly important to boost.

Boost the gunners if you have way too many left to spare. The boost will lose its effect when their level is high enough because they will be hitting their ability cap, rendering the boost useless

DON'T boost your BO. It's more trouble than it's worth.

Boosting also means absolutely nothing when you don't properly fill your crew with vets and experts. 0*1.2 is still 0.

pensa is also a great at AAing, and also can make a sub worst nightmare with PHH (make sure you are escorted with a ship that can detect sub), and like the rest of them said, its a great leveling ship

the pensa can be driven by any sailor who is at or higher in lvl then the pensa itself

personally i like doing manual aim AA in the pensa specialy with lvl 79 reload sailors

its good for aa and HH duty's
