With my new upgrade (new copy of windows 7 ofc) I have downloaded Navyfield and when I enter the game, log in I get nothing in chat. No Cabal90 has entered fleet channel, no one chat shown in battlerooms and my fleet says they haven't entered the fleet channel when i sign on. Now my radio man still says im in my fleet (better not be lyin to me xD) and my fleet logo shows up when i enter battleroom.

 

i redownloaded/reinstalled navyfield, changed the chatserverport in the registry as told by KarmaGM, rebooted. and still no chat. changed compatibility, ran as administrator, done all that. and tried the same thing with loging onto my alt acc and still the same issue.

 

would anyone else know what the problem is? And if possible, I'd like to stay out of the registry. I hate going in there cause 1 false move and you gotta reformat windows.

 

win7 home prem 64bit

 

and i do not have this issue on the test server, i tried it.

You can try reinstalling the game. But this is an issue that has existed for a while,


the Chat Server (Actually just some kind of seperate program running off the same server, sometimes cannot be connected to and you drop from being able to chat.


Its random, just play awhile and it should fix itself over time.

 

 

 

Also it is very hard to destroy windows in the registy, Windows has a few safties to restore the regegistry to the last working version (Plus very few keys actually are vital for window to start)

What kills windows is corrupting the registry.

ive tried playing a few matches in the past and still nothing.

 

ive tried installing twice with 2 downloads, i had windows check if the program was installed correctly.

there is a port you need to change in your registry for NF. I forget what it is atmm though..

chatserverport needs to be set to 8060 and was done few days ago.

Has the problem stop occuring or is it still happening (Those who've had this in the past, it normally phases itself out over time for them.)

i managed to fix it couple days ago, forgot to post it here.

 

heres what i did so people who have this problem in the future can do this

 

First i completely uninstalled Navyfield and deleted all files/folders

Second with approval from my dad (who has worked with computers for around 20-30 years) and overwatch from him as well as him checking BBR's steps of the registry, deleted the SDEnternet folder in the registry and rebooted. Just remember to becareful with the registry.

 

then downloaded and installed navyfield again and chat worked fine.

Is chat broken? after patch I can't message ANYWHERE.. not whisper... not even using macros.
