  • BB2 Comparison Thread

USN has four BB2s that are all very different: Colorado, New Mexico (1945), Pennsylvania (1943), Tennessee (1945).

Which one is the best?

Which one is the worst?

Right as much or as little as you want.

um... they're not very different. Unless you were talking about the colors.

The differences are subtle compared in GB when facing BB45 but in BB123 battles they do affect gameplay.

Colo is good for firepower with 16" duals and decent speed which lets it compete against BB3-4, can also hold 16" trips but sacrifices range

Tenn can also hold 16" duals but less ammo

Penn has a nice speed curve especially at levels which makes it good for hit&runs and can also compete with BB345 but can only hold the 14" trip, also known as the h39 killer

The NM is regarded as the worst of the BB2 but its speed gets better with high lvl crew

colorado is by far the best us bb2...

it goes 25/42, carries 4 binds of ammo, has 16" guns which deals alot of damage and can mount the triple 16Ds for when you're bored

loved the colo, grinded to iowa in colo from lvl70 onwards

monty setup with colorado works, you just got 2 binds which means you gotta aim your shells well.

Lies, you have pretty well range, you just need good engys.

This only works in GB rooms and even then its a stretch. Try this in BB123 or BB12 to see how effective it really is.

You range USN/IJN BB1s and possibly match range with UK but wouldnt touch a PPro2/Scharn

Then again it suggest someone smart with. Scharn. Been a while I seen one.

Stil, quite simply colo and tenn are better suited as linefighters, penn and NM as rushers. Since NM is hard to speedcap, it fails at low level. Penn also have a smaller hitbox.

3x14" mk7 do have spread issue. Even at 120. 2x16" mk2 level better spread wise. Still I like my penn, and have to admit with great spread it would be OP.

The main limitation on the Colorado is it's gun angles. They're not as bad as the Atlanta, but they have a similar limitation.

The best gun angles are on the Tennessee remodel. That thing can keep firing all guns pointing almost straight at or straight away from it's target, and the 16" mk2 L guns are quite accurate. And the hitbox on a Tennessee is quite narrow, making it slightly harder to score a hit against one with multiple shells.

Pennsylvania's claim to fame is speed, thanks to it's larger overheat time.

New Mexico is basically a slower Pennsylvania, but it's your early out to a better BB than Guam. While you won't enjoy it at level 65 (you trade speed and AA for firepower but lousy gun scatter), it's a respectable enough BB2 with the remod at 70. A lot of people underestimate it.

...

My favorite is Tennessee, but that's just me.
