  • H44 Guns, 100s or 110s?

    07. 13. 2011 10:17

Mythic23
Hello, my gunners are approaching 110 and I don't know what to choose. I've tried them both out on the test server for comparing and it seems to me that they have exactly the same range and pretty much the same firepower. What is the difference? Well, the 110s weigh a lot more I guess and have slightly longer reload, but why? What are the advantages of using the 18" guns? Are they better in any way? Should I just stay with the 16.5"?

NIborGER
go with the 16.5inchs. The 18inch might feel ok but arent.
The spread makes them fall shorter-> (avg range drops below Lion2... the 16.5s are slightly above
Longer reload
Higher possible dmg but dmg inconsisty causes lower avg dmg.
a bit heavier (unimportant)
even worse AP ability

Currently a bb5 rebalance is about to start including a 110 fix. currently only the monty 110 are the only worthy ones of the 110s

From all that I have read, that alleged 110 fix is still under debate and question; therefore, in my honest opinion, bringing it into this discussion is a mute point.

As for the question at hand by the OP, use the 16.5s.

got a 18" or 16.5" poll in the old data..

and as for my opinion, i'd pefer the 16.5" as most of the ppl do
except for the above point that nibor said,
16.5" also have potentially more ammo if you willing to exchange it with armor/speed
but well.. usually ppl don't need 175shells per gun on H44s lol

Instead of SDE wasting time patching other nations, this problem needs to be resolved. And its been a problem for years. There is definetely an issue when level 110+ are using lvl 100 guns rather than the 110. This needs to be resolved.

currently the 16.5" do better average damage and have a better consistent spread, although myself i use the dual 18" *should be dual 20" but w/e* yet it is completely up to you which gun you like best, try them both for a few battles to help with your decision, it is also partially personal preference. A h44 played correctly is a lethal opponent that when used wisely with AA can be a mean machine.

I await the bb5 balance patch when the dual 18" get fixed finally.

I've been using the 110 lately and find I do modestly better with them than with the 100 lvl guns. With both guns the consistency stinks but with the 110 I have salvos where I do greater than 30k damage, which rarely, if ever happened with the 100s. I have to say that my average damage per game is greater with the 110 but again a MODEST amount, which really stinks when you think about it. In terms of consistency I don't think I have sunk another bb5 with 2 salvos, but other bb5s do sink me with 2 salvos (which really stinks again).

The H44 was problematic from the say it was introduced and TNF did make changes to make it even playable

Feeling better bout your choice even tough its currently not the best one by saying it that way?

Real men own up their mistake and move to correct them.

16,5 are currently the better choice, if only for the massive shell inconsistency of the 18".
