The manual patch has failed on my Windows XP operating system.

At the end of the wizardshield update I get two messages.
#1  ENFUNS Updater file update failed
#2  NAVYFIELD PATCH updated successfully

When I run the game during the initial file check i get the following error:

Critical Error:  Version Configuration File Not Found


What is the quickest way to fix the problem?  A full reinstall? 

Have you already updated or confirmed that a full reinstall works?

full reinstall, wipe all info, etc, dosen't work! NF needs to fix it...

I got the same message, I just waited a bit more and the game loaded...

I also get the error:

But after the third attempt to update, it gives up, then seems to work OK.

It worked all along after manual update. I just never tried to log on because of all those warnings telling me it wasnt working.

I believe you need to manually download the ENFUS Updater Manual download from the Download section, it claims to solve the VC missing file issue. =)
