  • IN THE CASE OF: MY PATCH DIDNT WORK -

With the recent influx of players stating issues with the Game after a patch and the garuntee of some big patches coming down the pipe,
I want to give you some assistance ahead of time to fix your problem - before having to resort to your own - IT DOESNT WORK thread
or sending a ticket which are generally answered by the next day, but who wants to wait till tomorrow to play? right?

So SOLUTION #1 -

https://navyfield.com/Download/Game/Main.aspx

Scroll down - and click MANUAL PATCH -
It is best to do this before you try to run Navyfield.exe - but still works after your Auto patch doesnt work.

SOLUTION #2 -
(THOUGH I HATE THIS SOLUTION - IT WORKS AT TIMES)

Re download the game - Go to same above link. - Download Game.
before you try to Instal - UNINSTALL FULLY  the old version. Allow your computer to fully remove.

Are these two solutions SURE FIRE ways to fix ALL issues? NO. I am not a techy - but I am techy enough to know that this is not the ONLY solution
or the way to fix all issues. But if you a re struggling with game after a patch- and not tried either of these two steps... Please do try before your post or ticket.

i reinstall the whole game every week.... the only thing that you need to do is remake your macros

seems like the patches are like band-aids that dont stick... everytime you logon ...the patch re-downloads the latest patch...every time....dunno but after 6 years ya think they'ld get a hang of it already

oh well no ones perfect but me :) ...lol j/kin

well the patch worked for me its just each time i open NF it will do that thing where it fails 3 times, and says the update failed, but when i press play game, the game loads fine and i can log in to with no problems.

any reasons on why this is happening?

my constructive solution here is to point out to SDE that patches are supposed to fix problems not make new ones. people should not have to jump through half a dozen hoops to get something to work every time a patch comes out.

SDE should look into their auto-update program and see what is going on there that is messing people up.

wontonamo that is your auto-updater failing you. while the game will work for now I would recommend you do the full un-install re-install solution before next patch.

it is really annoying to have to download 500+MB just because a ~15MB patch messed up your game but when you are working with SDE these things happen unfortunately.

Arrgh
What gets me the most is this issue is more than a day old and none of the gms have bothered addressing the community whether or not a fix will come before the next scheduled patch.

I have noticed one possible key thing though, the data files that you download from this site are older and some are smaller than the ones that the nf launcher tries to download after the data files corrupt.

maybe updating the datafiles in the download section will do the trick?

Well, after manual patching and later total reinstall, i sent a support ticket, and the answer from NF is redirecting me to this forum message... so i guess i will manual patch again, then un-install and re-install, and then again send support ticket, which answer should be redirecting me to the forum, and so on :D
At least i have already bought Diablo III, waiting for release :D

I would like to state that I have downloaded and manually installed the patch which eventually gives me game access.

Now on to the issue:

It takes at least two tries before I am able to get Navyfield to work. The first try is a guaranteed crash. This issue only starting happening after this patch.

Second issue is of consequence and ultimately more troubling. Since this patch my game has not started in the same fashion twice. In fact, I'm not sure if its started the same at all.

I just run the manual patch each time, run game, kill process once, then I'm in.

adefesios - I just looked into your ticket - and the SS you provided.

I want to note that I did state this wasnt a sure fire guaranteed fix - but a fix that is most common.

For your situation- I know this seems dumb concidering the steps you have taken , but remove navyfield again. AND delete your download set up. Get a whole new downloaded client. (free your computer space by removing old files from the DL folder). Try doing that. I had an issue similar long time back (not when I was a mod) that my computer didnt download a few files that were needed to successfully install - and the auto patch didnt pick those up for some reason.

Again - I dont want to say this is a fix all - I want to say that I am trying to help - PLUS - I want to help put all solutions in one area.

PS - I have edited or removed a few posts . be constructive be polite -
