  • Time Limit On Flag Retreat

Similar treads have been suggested before, but their main idea is NOT allowing the
flag to retreat at all.

Instead of not allowing the flag to retreat at all, I suggest putting a time limit on
WHEN the flag can retreat. This way, If the flag needs to retreat, the team atleast
has a chance to get rolling before the flag retreats.

This would prevent flag's from retreating once the game starts up giving the team
those few minutes to start up. Also it would allow the flag to retreat if their team
completely failed... letting the flag save their ship.

I would suggest putting a 3-5 minute delay on when the flag can retreat.

Now we all know the flag could just d/c on his or her own... But nothing can be done
about that. With the 3-5 minute delay, there is atleast something there that can
atleast slow the flag from retreating.


Thoughts?

How about, make the flag retreat timer 5 minutes.

On top of that, if someone retreats, they should get 0 exp and 0 credits and 0 points. Flags, if they retreat, should get negative.

well... I wouldnt be against flags having a 5min retreat from the start... But if by the end of the game if they wanted to retreat to save their ship(if their team failed), they really wouldnt be able to...

What about having it start out as 5mins to retreat at the start... and as time goes by, the retreat time goes down to 1minute?

That way, if it is the end of the game, they still only have to wait 1 minute before retreating. Or if they retreat during the middle of the game... say they would have to wait 2-3 minutes.

The intention is to not encourage the flag to retreat. The whole point of this idea is to limit the time on WHEN they can retreat SO they cannot retreat right after the battle starts.

I'm not suggesting putting a time limit on how LONG it takes the flag to retreat. Just simply WHEN it can retreat.

But, I am open to having a time limit on how long it takes the flag to retreat, as long as that time limit eventually goes down to 1minute after a given amount of time.

Does that clear it up for you?

It is quite clear, i'm not sure if you are reading my posts correctly, but a flagship should never retreat.

Your probably right.

I agree with you that flag's shouldnt retreat. But for those who have to/ want too (whatever their reason may be), if there was a time limit, it would give the team the time to compensate for the loss of the flag. The main goal is for the team to have time to compensate for the flag leaving before it actually does. Of course... the flag could just d/c... but there of course... is nothing that can be done for that.

I agree, altough if a flag really wants to retreat, they will simply disconnect.

Maybe he's using his CV and not lucky to became a flag and want to became flagship, the solution to his suggestion is every time flag ships will disconnected the system will automatically select the next flagship to those remaining CV's,.
