Why Mark 38s and not 29s?

Simple, they both have similar angles, however they have the same damage, the Mark 38s have .6 second base faster reload, plus the Mark 38's Attack Arc is longer than the Mark 29s. (aka at each angle you have a longer distance you can hit a plane at)

Thus making the Mark 38s easier and superior to the Mark 29s.


For reference I average 10-18k plane credits with USN AA depending on the enemy CV launching planes and they enter the gun range. My personal favorite being the 3" 70 Cal Mark 23.

Be aware of ammo the Atlanta has about 10-13 binds with the 3" and 5" guns (About 8 or 9 with the 5" 54 Cal)

Best Options:
With lvl 80+ Rld Gunners:
3" 70 Cal Mark 23 (37/14/6)
5" 38 Cal Mark 38 L (36/13/6)
5" 54 Cal Mark 16 L (31/12/6)

With lvl 50-80 Rld Gunners:
3" 70 Cal Mark 23 (37/14/6)
5" 38 Cal Mark 38 D (40/15/7)
5" 54 Cal Mark 16 D (33/13/6) (Will have slow rld til around lvl 60ish)

With lvl 30-50 Rld Gunners:
3" 70 Cal Mark 23 D (39/14/7)
5" 38 Cal Mark 38 D (40/15/7)

I was able to fit 22 AA Binds on the 3" guns.

What do you recomend?

Other REMODS Thoughts?

SHELLS Binds?  AA HE AP?  on Atlanta with 3"/70 - Mark 23 D Guns? 

Any time you are using USN (or any other quick Reloading Normal Gun (AKA any Non-A variant gun)) for AA:

If total number of possible binds is greater than or equal to 15 but less than 20:
2 binds of HHE or HE (Or Firework shells if you desire) in the B Cabinet
Rest as AA

If total number of possible binds is less than 15:
All binds as AA. 



For the few gunsets/ships that get 20 or more binds for AA:

60% of the binds as AA, 40% as HE for dual purpose/mixed role.

80% AA, 20% HE for AA heavy Dual purpose/mixed role.



Easiest of the remods for AA is the one with 6 guns, the Junsen?
However the other remods having the extra 2 guns can come in handy in some cases, however they make aiming interesting some times, especially when using Gradual Fire.
