  • Gneis 43, please share your SpeedW experiences

Gneisenau 1943, The -Born and bred- ultimate speeder.

Gneis 43... It is that Battlecruiser, which is Fast and Furious. 

 

What I do with it? Bissy duals, 31/52 knots of speed, 90 seconds of overheat!

5 engs, 3 reps, 1 scout (a.k.a. no AA for me babe, my Km aa gunners are way overlevel, I need to raise the supports.)

 

I find this babe to be very agile and quite able to harrass/guerilla on anything, up to BB5-6. I don't mean challenge, I mean hit-and run, being able to harrass and distrupt. Good range, perfect speed: that's the Gneis43.

AFAIK, it's possible to reach 55 knots with Gneis 43 (or possibly pass beyond that). But atm 52 is really good enough for me.


Please share your experiences, opinions and thoughts on Gneis 43.

 

P.S. I used the search function and I'm not satisfied with da results.

Hi TG,
yes, indeed, it is a very nice ship to hit&run! I have not been able to make it run 55 knots, but only 54. It is still enough to get in, hit a couple of times and get off the range of the BB with big guns.

I have seen some players using the 3x11" in this ship, I prefer also the set up you described, the Bissy 2x14.96" guns: lower angle (30 degrees instead of 40 with the 3x11"), better damage and nice spread. 

Scout space is enough for a GB also (you can fit 3 T5 scouts, if I am not mistaken, after the last aircraft patch).

It's way better than regular Gneisenau.

 

More DP,

+1 Crew Slot,

Larger R slots, more range, better guns,

Larger T slots more ammo,

Larger disp,

Looks better.

Can this (and other) event ship be run with an Engi as BO and having long enough guidelines?
I know it works for premium ships but what about event ships?
Eventship Emden does not accept Engis as BO but that one might be special?

No, only a premium ship e.g. Andrea Doria and Moltke
