I used to play US CV(4Fighters+ 4bomber pilots) with my old account a few years ago, returned to the game currently and would like to start a whole new path playing IJN CV also spending olives for all 8 of Elite pilots.

As I knew that IJN bombers are good , but i have no idea how good IJN fighters are. Could you guys please
tell me how good or bad japanese fighter is compared to the US???

Will 4 fighter +4 bomber pilots a good setup or I might need more fighters instead? Please give me some advices before Im purchasing those elite pilots.

MESY

===== in term of true ability =====
11 rep 11 fighter 150 vet 120 level = 3.42 true ability
9 rep 13 fighter 150 vet 120 level = 3.73 true ability
delaying pilot doesn't make a huge difference, however, need 10 more vet for same result.

===== in term of SD =====
8 pilot, operator & gunner give you less than 500 SD.
Its less than 500SD when the BO,gunner are elite rep & delayed to 120 level.
getting SD seems a problem.

===== in term of the last support slot =====
If you put restorer, you lack repair and lack sonar.
If you put a sonar, you lack restore and repair.
If you put an elite repair, still won't get good SD (less than 700 in total, you are IJN!)
11/11 repair man still less than 800SD

===== c.onclusion =====
so, if you can find good rep/res pilot, use them

I think what MESY has told you is more advanced thatn you want to worry about but if you wish to do that is on you.

THe IJN ft pilots are just fine against other nations, it counts more the skill that you gain in using htem than anything else.

IJN DB and TB are both very good.

Overall IJN is a very good nation for CV.

Im just a bit confused of what he is saying :/ However, I just found out that eilite pilots aint as good as 11/12 pilots. So, i might go roll myself some good pilots instead of purchasing elites.

Oh, one more thing, What kind of DB status am I looking for? 11(aircraft)/12(bomber)??

elite bombers are waste of money, but elite or hero fighters will be better.

Elite fighter won against 12 Fig in air but lose in ship defence, but it depend on ypur priority to stop enemy in air or be less fragile.

If you use delay classed sonar and only to 2nd sonar then you get 200-400 sd from this sailor, depend how many vets put on it. and sonalr ability will be better then 2150TA so you see sub first.

also is question to use 2 or 1 guner and on secons R slot put repir.

with setup BO (12rep/11res), Dealy sonar, 1rep and rest sailors you can get 900 SD and rep rate abaut 100/s.

So, Im gonna buy 500olives and spent 360olives for 6 elite fighters(140 olives left). I wonder should I get a elite restore or some others elite? Or maybe just boost my elite fighters with the rest of my olives?

Along time ago they truned off the secondary stats for planes. This means Fighter stat only works for fighter and bomber for bomber.

For a fighter the ft stat applies to both offense and defense.

Buy at least one elite fighter to class as a seaman, this will add alot of SD to your ships and will make your fighters better.

Please do not try to make your ships stronger through you pilots. The low amount of crew they have really won't add a lot. If you want to make it stronger have a repairer in a T slot. Or level repair based gunners for HH.

I wanted to taste all te favors for the IJN since they have a very large selection of CVs.

I created the follow with IJN:
- 4 Fighters
- 4 Torp Bombers
- 4 Dive Bombers
- 1 Hero Seaman

As a fighter nation, IJN is not good at all with Fighter vs Fighter. You will need to micro manage and drag your planes a lot if you engage in a fight. IJN fighters have alot of manuverablity and are also the quickest planes.

The Torpedo Bombers are ok for ijn, to me they seemed pretty balanced both in the aspecs of the plane and torpedo. UK(RN) has the best torpedoes and IJN sits nicely at 5th place. But the planes for the torpedo bombers are more durable than UK's

IJN has the 2nd strongest Dive bombers in the game. They are right behind SN.
