hi bud need engine crew as you need to be able to run i used duel 8inch on mine and i would own most ships in blitz, in gb2 well SN sucks for aa so all you can do is scout and support against subs so torps or charges enjoy

I use tripple 7.1" guns in Blitz. This is the "historical" setup.

To me this is best because those guns are from Kirov level and with Gorki better FCS the spread is excellent with lvl 55+ gunners, the range is fantastic and the reload makes you feel like a CL again. The tripple 7.1" have the second longest range you can fit on Gorki (longest is the lvl 52 set dual 10"). This setup is the most flexible for a tight, fast battle. I consider in my Gorki I have an even chance against any ship CA or below in Blitz.

I never tried the dual 8" as suggested by Bronze but the 7.1 outranges it, and fires faster, and you get 9 guns instead of 6, so I really don't see how that choice makes sense. The damage per shell is not that much lower.

I tried my Gorki once in GB2 with the dual 10" and I got 10k atk on a BB5 before being sunk. The thing outranges half the BB1s in the game with this set up and the damage is decent but I think the reload of the 10" is too slow for Blitz, and the spread is terrible. yes the damage is ridiculous but if a DD is rushing you you won't hit them in time. for BB sniping though it's second only to the KM_Deutschland or PCAs.

I know they made some changes recently maybe my estimates of the range are wrong but that's how I use mine and I really really like it. Trip 7.1" in Blitz for Accurate DPS, dual 10" in GB for sniping.

Oh and have fun!!! =)

The dual 8"s are not a good idea on the maxim; the trip 7.1" and the dual 10" (second set) are better.

Thanks Angus for confirming the dual 8"s are no good, was worried I missed something =P

I guess it comes down to how you want to play. If your gunners can handle the spread and you want to play like a mini-BB go for the dual 10"s.

If you want to play a hard-hitting CA go trip 7.1"s.

TBH, I think the Maxim is the best non-prem CA in game with either setup.

i favor the 7.1's as well

the second set of 10" guns are a bit heavy, and the first set of 10"s don't outrange the 7.1 trips
(having less spread & faster gunfire with the 7.1's makes them very good at both ranging & close range gunfights)

the spread on the 10" (tested on first set only) with at lvl bve gunners (yellow sailors, so 11/11 i believe) isn't as good as other large calibre guns with boosted crews (KM panzershif)
Imo combining the spread with the reload 10" is a no-go for blitz. (not sure what to run on the bb1 in blitz, so far only the 8"on the T's is the only succesfull setup i've seen?)

i havent seen many SN BB's AA-ing, so it's probably best to stick with engy's (mind that engys only work on your support slots, so put some reps in your T's)

you will reach rest cap without restorers, so you might want to consider lvling another rep or engy.
that way in the end you get another sailor that boosts your speed or rep rate, instead of one that boosts an allready capped stat.

i only advice a rest to people who i dont see making it to bb4/5 within a year, because it makes the early tier bb's a bit more fun to wield, but you could really use the extra speed or rep rate on your bb4/5 (and on the lower ships as well, but at least they won't get oneshotted with a rest all the time, takes 1,5 hit with a rest :p)

SN AA does not really suck, I use the dual 6" guns on this or the svlanta and do pretty good.
