would be more realistic if the ships take longer to sink, not much longer like a 20 sec, and could come down more slowly.

Not necessary. Why prolong the inevitable?
Besides, the novelty of seeing a ship sink in 20 secs will wear off after a few games.

In the end, it's pointless.

Making ships take longer to sink means more Sprites need to be added which could mean more lagg.

There are certain situations when some realism is nice, e.g. giving ships their historical color schemes / gun configurations, or using ships that ACTUALLY served with that particular navy instead of fictional / alternate history ones (read : Wyoming/Florida class instead of Sevas as the US PBB).

However, this is not one of those scenarios, for making a ship take longer to sink is pointless. Yes it may look nice, but by the 3rd or 4th game, you probably wouldn't care anymore.

That being said, for a lot of people, Navyfield not just another game.

Most of play this game are enthusiasts of naval combat. It's not just simply different character classes with different abilities like in a magic or fantasy monster game. I know some see it that way, but naval fans see it as entities with historical significance.

Hence, their desire to inject realism into the game is understandable.

So, if we were making it more realistic in this situation...

Instead of taking entire waves of torpedoes or 9-12 shells from a BB....ships would become incapacitated from one or two torps or a couple shells hitting the deck.

Then, you can limp around in circles for the rest of the game because your rudder was destroyed.

Or, you can have your ship slowly list to one side until, 30 minutes later, the last bit of it sinks below the water.

Sounds awesome.
