Now that trade has been closed, Sailor rolling seriously needs an update.

1) Make it easier to get 11s (keep 12s hard if you want). Not every player can afford a full 14 man crew of elites and right now the rate at which 11s appear is abysmal. I can spend 15-20 minutes rolling and not get a single useful sailor.

2) Add a 1-roll reverse. So many times I've accidentally rolled over a useful sailor. Add a feature to reverse the roll by 1.

3) Increase the size of the interface & text size. The box & the writing in it is tiny! It literally hurts my eyes to roll sailors.

 

If people can't even get a basic starter crew going, what incentive do they have to play and level up?

There is ongoing event right now that will help out new players into the game. There a chance to win a elite sailors , super elite,premium ship and etc....
thanks for the good suggestion about the sailor rolling system all i can say right now is wait for upcoming changes in the future.

Yes there is but you are given very few yellow sailors.
Unless I am mistaken you are given only 1 rep, 1eng, 1 rest as supports. We all know that we need 10 supports for a bb5/6.

That still leaves 8 supports that need to be found or bought. And also, when a player wants to start a new line, they need to find 14 sailors again but with no yellows.



Regarding the event. It is great that it drops elites and that's been helpful. But I find the drop is less than random lol. Of the 20 elites I have got, 5 are Pot and 7 are Fighters and 0 have been engineers.

i'll have to bump this one, if people want to make a new account here they need to be able to roll decent sailors.

the yellow sailors are not enough, and everyone screws up somewhere
(not enough engy, not enough repair, not enough potential, and then theres the cv crews..)

without trade and without the ability to roll a halfway useable sailor most people will quit when they realise that their BB1 needs more supports than their CA, and they start looking at what a bb6 actually needs....

getting new sailors should be easy (or at least easier) if we want to get & keep new players on board.

They dont want to make rolling easy. They want you to buy Elites and Super Elites etc.

They want a player base to draw money from, But you dont build up a player base if you charge a new player 20$ for his very first crew (& thats without boosts vets n experts). Every sane person will hit the uninstall button at such a demand. 
Get them hooked first, then draw their purses

If it helps, here is my experience in rolling for my 12/10 only crew.

I've returned 2 weeks ago now, It took me 4 nights(6-7 hours per day doing nothing but roll) to roll 7x 12/10 and a BO for my UK BB line. 

1x 15BO particularly took me about 4 hours, and I haven't rolled more than 3 of them since.

2x 12/10 Gunners  (Got a 11/12 too)

2x 12/10 Repair/Engine 

2x 12/10 Engine/Repair

1x 12 Scout

Luckily there was an event going on, so I've gotten 2 elite eng that way. Then I went on and bought 4 elite eng with olives.

One thing I'd like to point out tho, there seems to be a really high chance in rolling a 12/X AWW. I have at least rolled more than 8 of them.  

Also, there's a trick I've been doing, I'd have way better chance seeing a 12,  If I name the sailor 'eng' when rolling , and visit the battle channel for at least 10sec(need to move round the channel) every 5 mins of rolls. The battle channel part is very important, and I tend to think of it as resetting my rolling chance.  I know it sounds absolutely nonsense, but hey it works for me lol

Your time spent was better spent of making money and buying Elites and such. Waste of time.

Economically, you're absolutely correct. 

But not everyone(esp. newbies) is willing to pay a large amount of money for an aging game. I've spent about $60 bucks(Boosts,experts pack, prem acc) only for my UK BB line. If I were to do the same whenever I start new line(e.g. CV), that'd be really expensive.

Really ! 
1 engy   we still need at least 5  more engys  for bb6 
1 repair  we still need at least 3 more repairs for bb6
And the useless 1 restore !! make an option to trade it for a useful engy/repair man.
Also you don't give us torpedo men .. or FP/DB/TB men, so your yellow crew only helps the BB career no other careers of CV/SS ! 

We need +15 sailors for SS 
We need +12/11 for all pailots and Supporters !!

As I remember its a free game still and not every one can buy premium sailors.
am I right !
