Altough I hope the test server section doesnt get flooded with people on a rant, and that actually come with a well-explained idea, and not a 1st grader rant.

I'm interested in this suggestion, specially because it's one that I can help to make it happen.

The only question I have is... wouldn't this just turn the test server forum into a section with a bunch of "make X ship better!" threads? Just like the SY thread a few days ago (no offense to the creator of that thread).

Having one suggestion like that every once in a while isn't that terrible... but if we move every suggestion for change there, it would make things troublesome for people that want to have serious discussions and serious work.

I would rather have well planned discussions in the test server, than let every suggestion about changes moved there.

I do agree any changes within the ships should be to the attention of the test team, to see if an idea has merit, but I also wouldnt want these same idea to flood the area with rants and whines

and also who whould over see what would be taken serious? and not?

Test server discussion section is Mailman's baby, and he doesn't hesitate to lock and delete pointless topic.

So I think he would keep control.

Exemple of that is that SY thread you mentionned.

But I see it as a potential of risk.


Also due to the fact its players and a TNF rep that are in charge of balancing, they see what is written, and participate in. If an idea is worthless, its quickly ignored. You don't have to draw the GMs attention on it as much, since that team, if they judge the idea interesting, will ask them to patch the test server with it and test it.

So I'd say its the good place for it. I know regardless of what happens with this, I already go to that section to discuss balance.
