Again good evening....
As i see the BB/CV/SS problem is not solved yet.
What happens i my opinion is that most of the high levels BB have a long lifed crew that they use, they have grinded it and now they are the kings of GB.
Same for CVs.
And then came the SS, small ships who didnt required long grind since they stop in the lvl 70s they specialisationa and grind.
Since is too late to modify SS whitout a complete revolte of their users and actual grinders, I suggest an easy solution (so i hope).
Create a new type of Ships (like a normal ship-line) just that when you wuld go CA or BB you dont, you stay CL so you can use sonar.
The main problem in ASW is that all specialised ships are really low level ships, to use them you need a low level crew, when you go over a determainate level you wont get any exp from that game style, so whats the use of doing it?
to get player used to play a long term ASW wasrfare you must encourage people to use high level crews for that. Because when you are an experienced player a lvl 12 to 60 takes less than 2 weeks.
I am sure that if this is done they would need to improve the subs to make them competitive or sub player would need to get more tactics.
What do you think of that idea?

PS: I edited the thread title cause i realized it sounded like a complaining one. I hope this new one is more neutral

Another Sub complaining topic.

Stop it, quit NF if you dont like it.

- TB
- Guns (surface)
- torps
-DC
-HH
- mines
- maps like iceberg

Need more to kill just a sub?

I understand the logic behind the idea, but I doubt people would actually grind such a line.

ASW is very specialized, and good only at one thing : hunting subs. Its why most people that ASW also carry AA and such while leveling to BB/CV.

I have trouble seeing the interest one could have of grinding such a line, with no capital ship class at the end.

What we really need is to correctly balance the SS/ASW/BB RPS balance so its less of an auto win/lose.

Keeping a certain advantage, of course, but needing skill to take it.

Adding a leveling line of ASW/SUpport oriented ships (choosen at CL level) that are fast ship with small R slots for HH and T slots to carry some AA guns could be a good idea, but not all nation has AA gunners ready at low level.

But in average I think the current ships do a decent job of it, and that its putting a band-aid on an hemoragy.

We have 2 imbalance here : ASW vs SS and SS vs BB. We need to fix both, not simply increase imbalance of one side to compensate the others.

Two wrongs doesnt make a right.

He actually is proposing a valid idea taking into account the whole balance. I disagree with it for reason I stated, but he brings arguments to it and actually never says "nerf subs!" If you do not want to discuss, gtfo.

You want the statut-quo. Well no, you won't get that.

first not a sub complaining thread.
I play both and its true that sometimes you really hate some sub drivers, in other hand you go epic win sometimes when you do a major sneak attack on the most powerfull BB of other side.

About the grind of that line, thats true, but what if they were like the emerald and other ships like that? you just need to reach the level to use it, plus you could make a specialized support shpi, if you dont like ASW you can go AA. The fact is that the support role which is really important is normally carried by low level ships or OP PCA who nuke everything, my suggestion is to create another path.
For example if you have hihgh lvl and efficacity ASW ship you can immagine a snorkel on the subs, or maybe that stay still make them really hard to detect. That way a real good SS palyer can go in ambush style in a map island and the have to run for its life. ASW ships can really escort the BB to detect immobile subs that wait for their prey. BB users, well can go on playing as BB users ^^

Some kind of ECL2? lvl 45-50 or so?

That could have potential.

I'd like to see both ASW and SS to be balanced first, but it could be to SS what ECL1 are to CVs. Of course, with the current power of PHH and such, I do not think it would be a good idea to introduce it right now.

Contrary to what humberto, leaderwolf and rick think, I do not want ot make sub impossible to play in NF.

But keep your idea in mind, I believe its interesting.

my idea was to keep the CL line to at least the 90s lvls.
But to test it a single middle-high lvl ECL would be cool.

I do not believe it would work up to lvl 89 or so. Its a BB4 grind for something lvl 38 CLs can also do well.

Take any other non-capital ship endline, mainly the kita.

If it was too high level, nobody would bother grinding one. Its popular because its an easy enough grind and its a fun and unique playstyle.

a high lvl CL or even DD (perhaps EDD similar to DDMP) that, like ECL can be operated by any BO will certainly help break the BB45 grind. Any second for FFZ?

opposed to putting the entire crew on a regular DD/CL, the crew size wont impact it, your sailors will get decent exp rather than 0-2% on a regular DD allowing higher skilled players to keep ss in check.

This of course will require a rebalance of ASW and perhaps introduce new ASW options for tiers.

It will also help with the 20BB GB problems (not right now during event) but surely things will go back to normal before the end of the year.

Well yes, but what if the specialized ship is the only one able to detect silent SS? or maybe give them longer OH to use really properly the DC. In other hands thats true, but what if the ship was only a remodel to enable you to go on using while grindig other specialisation sailors? like use it while grinding pilots or similars? I was not thinking of a complete line, more a line you can use when you want to change playstyle, that way we could even have spot ships, that would help the poor blind (Scout pls whinners) BBs, by running among ennemy lines and make a mess of their lines of battle.
I cant remember how often i did it with my emerald you have 5 BBs firing at you and loling you as a noob while your BB6 oneshot them one after the other ^^
