This is for those sub drivers who claim that they can not crit dive fast enough to avoid PHH/HH damage?

no problem if stationary and the mouse is on the crit dive button.

Now do it like it would happen in game, sub at full speed and not with the mouse on the crit dive button

If moving and in real battle, there's a keyboard button for critical diving and that is the "I" button.

If you're in detection range of any ship that may have sonar, the finger should already be on the crit dive button.

a moving sub takes longer to crit
a sub player shud have his hand on the speed and torp select butons
and of corse the spacebar
now those are f,v,c,x,z,and space all onthe left botom side of a keyboard thei button is top right
human reactive response in about 0.5 sec on an incomming tread time to thit the i about the same
and in the time to slow the ss in to its critdive and its a counflip

o and richard get a sonarmen on your ss:))

And where the sub would be several boat lengths away from the ship firing the HHs. Which would pretty much negate the changes you are advocating.

If your already in an ss fight the chances of being able to crit dive as soon as a secondary enemy fires hh at you boil down to sheer luck.

Also, hh had contact fuses, meaning they only detonated if they made contact. The in-game version is a hybrid in that has the "sprayability" and range of the hh but also the AOE damage of earlier off the back of the boat hydrostatic depth charges. In my opinion a lil OP'd.

We can change that when we slow every ship in the game down to realistic WWII levels and we make it so that one shell from a 6" gun destroys a sub.
