  • IJN ss4 speed cap

anyone know what it is? ive got 3 engies. 2 with 170 vets and one with 179, but they're in the mid-high 70's. I OH at 35knts on the surface. Oh, they're maxed experts as well.

speed cap is 170% of the base speed, or 40 knot surfaced, depending on what is the lowest of the two.

That only applies to SS, since 45 knot SS were a bit wtf OP. Any other ship class use the first cap limitation.

I have yet seen an IJN SS4 that's speedcapped.

all Subs have a speedcap of 40.

IJN SS4 Is hard to speed cap (IJN has weakest supports).

I have 3x lvl 95 BVE base 11 engys (on my sub) and i only go 25/35, armour doesnt matter (even if i take it off i wont go faster)

But those guys miss 200 aiblity each (too late classed)

You really need lvl 105+ (elites can be usefull) to cap

seen plenty of ijn ss4 hit 40knts.

IIRC slayer6 had his subs go like 43/53 before speed was limited.

Actually IJN is not that hard to speed cap. IJN has the most support slot.
i have 3 engineers base , 2 120, 1 116 on my sub and they go 40-34.

You can still buy them from players with base plus 12 with good bve or Elite, that should do it.

Actually, 2 120 and 1 117 , base 12 with 199 , 170, 170 vets and even like that , my ijn ss5 without planes goes 36-31. as ss4, it goes 40-34. Im not sure if IJN SS5 speed cap without planes its 37- or 40 but either way, i m leveling up 2 more engies, to keep more overheat time.

Capora (sp?) has a SS5 which goes 40.  I figure he has 3 or 4 level 120 engies

Are you sure its 170% of the base speed?  I believe I have seen subs over that and I believe I have seen subs at 40 knots underwater.
