  • True Value for pilots

Is there not a way to fix this True Value for pilots so that SQL are actually better than fighters?

From what I read, as you go from fighter, Ace to SQL ou get less crew and so mathematically the true value is reduced
if you change your class title.

I assume the original intent was that as you hit the major achievement levels, you are suppose to be better than then last class.
40 - 60 -75, not the reverse.

Maybe get more crew as you go from Fighter Pilot, to Ace to SQL.

If you change crew growth, you make it so that every pilot that's leveled up from now on will be better than every pilot that has already been leveled.

It's hard to change this kind of thing without screwing over a lot of people.

Hmmm...I thought that might be the case.

An effective crew cap for levels might be good so that the effective crews of higher tiers are greater than lower ones, but I'm sure that's been thought of before...

I know some well experienced players have put their minds to it and if there are to be changes, it may come one day...for now, I'll just take it with a bit of sugar....or is it salt?

Well even with a level-based cap, once your fatter squad leaders hit 120, they're going to be superior.

The best way I've seen games deal with stuff like this is by resetting all the stuff that was affected. I don't think NF has the mechanism in place to reset everyone's pilots such that they can retroactively choose which levels to force each class change, in light of new pilot stat behaviour. Getting something like that in place and bug-free is a massive undertaking. I'm not sure, but as I understand it, SDE's track record has shown a preference to disregard players who have sailors rolled and classed the old way rather than do something like that. Hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong, but I think that's how the last fighter stat change went.

The status quo isn't terrible; it's not as if pilots are the only case where prompt classing is a mistake, it's just the most common case. As long as things are balanced for the best possible sailors, it doesn't matter.
