I finally have my monty (yeeey, wooot omggg)

Now I have 1 question...

Since i only go 23/37 (yeah, i go 24/39 but whiteout bulge im food)

Setup:

1 Bo 2 gunners 2 T slot gunners (Phh)
1 scout 4 engys 3 reps

Some people say 'use 5 engy 2 rep'

Which 1 is better?

Using only 2 REPs on a Monty will be quite frustrating.
3 REPs, imho, is minimum for Monty and 4 is a charm.

6 ENGs
4 REPs
2 Main Gunners
1 Scout
1 BO

or

4 ENGs
4 REPs
2 Main Gunners
2 AA gunners/PHH
1 Scout
1 BO

or

5 ENGs
3 REPs
2 Main Gunners
2 AA gunners/PHH
1 Scout
1 BO

Get rid of bulge, SPEED == LIFE for USN Don't rely on something temporary such as bulge to save you from subs. Like I just said, its only temporary, but the speed lose stays all battle long

0.2 belt and bulge til just before losing speed is best bet for US. Belt reduces torp damage and never gets destroyed but more than 0.5 belt is ineffective against torps.

Try to learn to keep track and time when subs are going to be an issue, most subs head straight from where they dive toward your line and you can use that knowledge to know where not to be when the sub arrives.

If you going to use the T slot guns (AA or PHH) , use 3 reps 4 engies, this will give you about 60% of the repair cap near at level plus adequate OH time for your level.

If you plan on continuing to Nebraska, grab another engy (Heck I suggest grabbing another 2 reps as well in case you want to later on try the nebby without T slot guns, or 1 rep and 1 engy that works too ^^ )

Try to learn to use your speed to get salvos off and turn and dodge the return salvo. Watch the other guys in a Montanas that are scoring 200+k attack per battle. Watch how they play and try to learn similar moves. Don't just sit on the line going straight and hope someone will be and idiot and rush in and turn into your salvo. Take control of the game and don't let other people's mistakes effect you.

EDIT: btw heatrr's suggestions are all BB6 sailor counts so don't worry about how its 1 extra. You'll need 14 total sailors for BB6.

I'm sure he won't after the last few threads norm.

Rick like norm said lose the bulge...USN = speed....OR if you want to be like me when i'm drunk spend 10 mil and AW the monty...it actually works.

Monty barely keeps 24 with the T slots unloaded. Using Guns (even PHH there) greatly lower the potential to go 24/40, and completely nukes it above lvl 110 or so.

As far as the crew goes, rotation will dictate what supports are on.

At times its going to be a rep sitting in the waiting list (5/2) at other times an engy (4/3). Just grind your teeth for a level when you hit the combination you like a bit less.

Now what are your supports level? Staying a few level in the iowa might not be a bad idea if you can't get the monty to perform engine wise. Iowa gets the same speed, but the hitbox is more forgiving of it.

I am really worried about when you get in your Nebby.
If you don't know what you are doing, that's problematic.

Setup depends on your gameplay. You pick what your gameplays allows the best.

It's personal preference on your part however if you plan on getting the Nebraska rotate ur supports and t slot gunners in order to keep ur extra sailor the same level and so u can experiment with different setups to see which one you like better

I run a 5eng 4 rep 1 scout setup.

No AA

2 main gunners.

Deck and Belt are both 0.2 with bulge around 30

with this i can do 40knots overheat

the good set up for monty is 5eng/4rep/2mainguns/1scout/1bo.....

i go for 24/40.... it doesn't matter if you have no deck ....

all my crew is 109 gunner s116 and the BO104 my speed 24/40

He posted a full Nebraska setup.

Just level 2 main gunners, 2 rld/aa/hh gunners, 4 repairs, 6 engineers and 1 scout. So you can have the option to use almost all the good configuration for the Monty
