The problem with current recon pilots is that they have to be rookie pilots in order to use the recon planes. I think there should be promotion for recon pilots so that they can be more effective at scouting rookie pilots.
First recon promotion would be Recon pilot at lvl 38. This improves sight range, and fuel time of the plane by 10 %.
Then there is Recon Ace at level 62 which adds an extra 10 percent of sight and fuel.
Then around lvl 80 the pilots can be specialized for certain tasks and new abilities.
Advance Recon: Doubles the sight range and fuel time. Also vastly increases the speed of the recon plane but at the expense of being able to attack or defend.
Fighter-Recon: Improves the attack and speed of the plane to tier 1 to tier 2 fighters. Best planes would be the IJN A6M2-N Type 2 and the tier 5 recon planes.
ASW pilot: Specialized to defend against subs by dropping either sonarbouys which reveals submerged subs in a certain radius for 2 minutes, or depth charges allowing the Recon plane to attack the Sub. However Sight range, fuel time and speed are reduced.
