I think it would be a good idea...

If you have a sonarman on your CV your Tbs should be able to spot subs if they are at their lowest altitude.

I dont know if its possible or not with the game mechanics but there i made my suggestion...

To blow up the balance anymore? (if there is any balance in that matter duuuu)

pretty sure it is not possible with real life mechanics.

Sure NF and RL are not the same but within reason. BBs should cloak cuz NF != RL

Maybe sonar was the wrong word to use...

But bombers did have ways to detect enemy submarines that were close to the surface and close to them...

one solution and it was also suggested before was sonar buoy that can be dropped like a mine, another thing that can be carried by scouts.

You can also make this tied to your sonarman the same way paratroopers are linked to airlift present on the CV.

i think you are refering to MAD which during WW2 was only in large land based long range patrol bombers.

also these bombers used radar to find conning towers, or if the sea was reallr really smooth scopes and snorkels on the surface. again this kit was too big and heavy for most of the war for CV use towards the end (after the big u boat threat had ended) they could use pairs of aircraft one carrying the finder and one the weapon.

Sure. Its called eyes of the pilot.

As someone said, once RADAR was developped, they could detect snorkel and periscope at a point, but if the sub dove without anything on the surface, there was no way to detect them without a surface source.

For me, this feature should be on scouts that could drop the probe to detect submarines

Too balance this.....

You add Pillenwerfer (a decoy that the sub released)-a bubble that looked like a
sub under water. Used with a Sieglinde which made the bubble move at about 6 knots
Or a seigmund which emitted multiple blasts that blackouts listening gear.
.

And late in the war subs had a radar detector that could detect aircraft radar.

Don't forget Thermal Layers, Silent running, fake sinkings by ejecting junk from
torpedo tubes while releasing fuel oil.

These things should be part of a game oriented towards ASW.
