I was wondering if there were any events or scenario type maps that recreated WW2 Naval Battles, because that seems interesting.  I don't know if has been done before but it'd be a great concept imo.

How about a series of missions called the Battle of Leyte Gulf: The missions are in order there is one more mission that I havent filled out yet

Battle of the Sibuyan Sea: A carrier mission. The Players have to sink the Musashi

The Battle of Surigao Strait (the player can play on either the the Japanese side against 6 battleships ( West Virginia, Maryland, Mississippi, Tennessee, California, and Pennsylvania) or the US against 2 battleships ( Fuso and Yamashiro), 1 Heavy cruiser (Mogami) and 4 destroyers and a number of waves of Japanese strike planes.

Battle of Samar: A Destroyer, Frigate and tier 1 carrier only mission. The players have to protect their 4 escort carriers from a much more powerful Japanese strike force of 4 battleships (1 kongo, 2 Nagatos and the Yamato), 6 heavy cruisers (Ch?kai (Takao class a more durable and larger Myoko), Haguro (Myoko), Kumano (Mogami class heavy cruiser), Suzuya (Mogami class), Chikuma (Tone class a modified Myoko class with 4 turrets on the bow and a flight deck on the stern), Tone), 2 Anago class light cruisers and 11 Kager? destroyers

Check current Missions (Outside of normal battle areas)

They haven't added missions (other then Advance series) in years so I doubt they will add more.

Also add Battle of Cape Engano, CVs to CVs battle :)

It would be very fun, but would fail for several reasons.
1. The NF AI sucks.
2. If it were PvP, then the battles would be BB and CV heavy (the CAs and CLs would be doing nothing)
3. NF can't even come close to simulating real life naval battles. (1940s ships didn't land shells within inches of each other).

New missions should definitely be added...just a fun historical challenge for fleet members and friends

As far as the AI goes it definitely needs an upgrade, but I understand that AI is probably the hardest thing for anyone to program. In complex shooting and moving games like this there are so many things an AI has to control. I mean look at Call of Duty. They have some of the best programmers in the world and their AI is still predictable and flawed.
