  • Armor whore North Carolina?

I was just wondering if the North Carolina could be armor whored into something like the Lion 2. Is it even possible? Based on the displacement it has I personally don't hink so but I would like to give it a try. Any opinions or tips on this matter would be helpful.

I'm pretty sure it can't be AWed like a UK ship, but with 2 guns, it might bounce a good bit of BB3 shells.
Just remember, if you can't fit at least 8 inches of deck, then the entire thing of armor is worthless. (For U.K., the magic number is at 8.3. At 8.3 inches of deck, the damage of 16" shells suddenly drops. For other nations I would say at least 9 inches.)

Only USN ship I've seen have any moderate success AW is certain CA in blitz. USN is not meant to AW, and certainly shouldn't compare a USN bb3 to a UK bb5.

The edge from good to crap in the USN BB is called "armoring".

Seriously, you want a slow crap that can't bounce anyway, throw in fat ammount of deck on a USN BB. Remove a gun for extra failure.

AWed 2 gun NM45/Pen43 work pretty well in its 14" max gun range (=BB5s` mid range).

Because of weak firepower, they are useful only for decoy or jokeship though.

Problem 1: getting in range.

Problem 2: you aint midrange. You are aroud 36 degrees for the montana and SY, 33 for the H44 and 34 for the L2.

Quite in the range where AP hurt wheb they start raining. And have fun getting kited without being able to dodge.

Honestly, why AW a US BB when you could just sink yourself and save time?

No i strangely dont have a problem killing bb5 with SW penn43 and sodak. Also, before coming here and talking about midrange, you do have an immunity zone with AW.... but you aint in it when you get in range with the 14". Before looking like a moron and claiming stupid things check your range data. It will also clarify for you why I have no trouble getting in range with 44 knot + of OH.

Nvm the fact you lose half your firepower. USN doesn't AW. Point.

If you have a problem with that, I'll gladly thrash you with any bb23 in the game. Don't bother replying, Save yourself some shame will you?
