Is there any way of fueling planes faster so you can have more planes aloft at a time?

no.

use more pilots to send up a full squad of planes. i've seen too many people putting 9, 10 or even 11 planes on one pilot. just ridiculous. hope you werent one of them

I just want to explain this in more detail (since many people don't seem to understand).

Lets say you want to load 9 fighters.

You could load all of them on one pilot, which would take 9 times as long as 1 plane.

Or you could use 3 pilots and load 3 planes on each, which means you would load 9 planes and it would take 3 times as long as one plane.

The second method lets you load the 9 planes 3 times faster than loading all 9 planes on one pilot.

As the people above me said use multiple pilots at once and load about 3 to a pilot. they load much faster and you can launch more planes frequently and wont be yelled at by the bbs.

With six pilots and loading four planes each, you can completely rotation air cover.

However, if on the return trip, your fighters go after a scout of something without you noticing, odds are they are going to run out of fuel.

The more groups you can have in the air at once and independently control, the more you can be doing at once. If you are just going to keep them all together in one spot scouting like most players do now then it dosnt matter anyway.

With my Essex, I have 4 fighter pilots and 2 dive bombers. I basically play like a fighter whore and rarely load my dive bombers.

With 9 max to load, I fly 3 planes per pilot, and try to spread them out for max coverage for sight and to catch enemy scouts and bombers. I leave my pilots in the air until they run out of fuel. I very rarely run out of planes in GB. I do well if I can keep 3 pilots constantly in the air and refueling as soon as they go down out of fuel.

I get into trouble when I am micro managing my pilots to keep them away from higher level enemy pilots and AA. What happens is I get to busy trying to keep my pilots out of trouble that I don't stay on top of refueling and end up with no pilots in the air and all of them on deck refueling, where they are of no help to the BBs.

I think I do pretty well keeping an eye on the enemy BBs when I need to cover half the map. I have a real hard time when later in the game I have to cover the whole map. For example, I might do a good job covering the northern have, but if the southern half fails, I find it really hard to cover both halves.

IMO it isn't your job to scout and cover south if you're north that's why there is more than 1 CV per team. What I do is i have 8 pilots on my tico with 1 seaman and i load 2-3-3-3 launch them then load 2-3-3-3 and launch those, rinse lather and repeat.
