What the hell are you talking about?

North Carolina has access to the 16"/45 Mk6Ls, which have the same range as the 16"/50 Mk7Ns, or Iowa Ns, just like it did back in beta. North Caronlina has FAR AND AWAY more range then Sodak. North Caronlina has just a hair less range then Bismarck with either gunset. North Carolina has great range and is one of the best linefighters in the BB3 class..Damage is great, reload is great, spread is so-so but gets great. NC also has better AA because it has 5 mounts per side instead of 4.

Sodak only has access to the Mk6Ns (Or the Mk3Ls). They have way less range then the 16"/45 Mk6L, but they have a better spread "out of the box if you choose the Mk3Ls. The Mk3Ls only elevate to 40* instead of 45* so you're missing out on quite a bit of high-angle effectiveness, but it's better for rushing, which is what the Sodak is good at.

All in all, NC's the better ship. It's fast (Not as fast, but still fast), has a great gunset, has great AA and it no longer has the "glass jaw" it had back in beta. NC is a far better "Iowa trainer" then Sodak will ever be.

As for NC vs Sodak I find they have really different playstyle. NC has better range and firepower, but she's also slower and the mk6L dont have the slight accuracy revision of the mk3.


In those 2 sentence you already see one is a linefighter and the other will ninja in range to deliver accurate salvoes. In the end both are good in what they do. Its a matter of player preference. I know mine goes to the sodak for the same reason SN doesn't interest me at all to level.
