It doesnt matter if you eat it, wear it, drive it, or whatever else you can think to do with it. A trucker brought it.
Please show respect to people like us. Things drivers appreciate, are really simple.

1.) Whenever you are making a lane change to get in front of a big truck, create a bigger gap so that driver
doesnt need to slow down to increase following distance.

2.) Never pass us on the right!!!!!

3.) Flashing your hi-beams at night actually blinds us when you are trying to signal us that we are clear to move
over. just turn your headlights on and off a couple times.

4.) Dont hang out in our blind spots!!!! If you cant see my face in my humongous mirrors, I cant see you!!!!

5.) Dont get irritated with us b/c we are driving slow uphill......it takes a lot of effort to move 45k+ lbs up a hill!

6.) Whenever you see a trucker dont hesitate to tell them how much you appreciate what they do.

7.) Most of all, have patience with us!!!

If there are any other drivers here, plz feel free to add to this list of things that you think john q public can do
to make our lives easier!

yes it has been a while:P

i'm alive:)

i might consider a short NF comeback tour. this damned truck is keeping me busy tho. sarah and i are still playing that one game with the orcs and trolls and elves and dwarves that has a playerbase of roughly 12+ million. also means for me to come back to NF i have to go out and buy a VGA cable b/c for one reason or another NF doesnt support HDMI visually.....

I work as a safety officer for a logistics company in the US.

None of those concern me. It's the people that lay down in the middle of the freeway and a driver has a body fly into his windshield going 62mph...4 this year and all 4 drivers retired because of it. Kill yourself not yourself and someones career.

Please Drive with your lights on in foggy, rainy or snowy weather. The Spray coming off my Fuel tanker wheels hides everything running next to me.

The Five Keys of the Smith Driving system are:
1. Aim High in Steering - Avoid Collisions by seeing, evaluating, and acting upon all information available.
2. Get the Big Picture - Fewer mistakes are made when you have the complete traffic picture.
3. Keep Your Eyes Moving - Proper scanning techniques separate safe drivers from people who make costly errors.
4. Leave Yourself an Out - All that separates drivers from a collision is space. Use it to your advantage.
5. Make Sure They See You - Seek eye contact and use your warning devices at the same time

62 mph????? there are only a handful of major companies that still govern their trucks at that slow retarded 62 MPH:(

while i appreciate what you are saying, these are the most common "nuisances" i experience on a daily(and nightly) basis.

also which company do you work for?

We do it because our contract requires it by GM/Chrysler also due to heavy snow in our region. All are electronically monitored down to MPG and emissions.

I work for dedicated logistics witch operates out of the midwest.

On another note, Really all of our deliveries and trucks are out during the middle of the night so the traffic issues and other drivers are a non issue. When I used to work for my step-dad (owner-operator), those things were annoying but most people have no sense of decency when it comes to driving in the first place.

I have nothing but respect for my drivers and know how hard they work. FYI though there are BAD drivers out there. Also IF you ever see a driver on a cell phone you should report it. Normal drivers should not be allowed to talk without hands-free the same as commercial drivers.
